15-year-old Luke Paul will take on an elevated role in 2025 with the Willetton Tigers.
Re-signing with the Tigers in late January, the rising star will continue his impressive trajectory in the NBL1 West.
Paul represented Western Australia at the U16 Nationals, which led to him being invited to the U15 Australian Selection Camp held at the Australian Institute of Sport. Paul was also selected for the FIBA U15 Oceania Cup team, where the Crocs team took out the Gold Medal over New Zealand.
Ahead of the 2025 season, Tigers coach Adam Nener is excited to foster Paul’s talent once again.
“Luke Paul first started training with our NBL1 side two years ago (2023), We thought getting him involved here and there would be great for him to get some exposure to the NBL1 level,” he said.
“He came in a little shy and obviously not having the body or strength to compete against the NBL1 men, but showed promising signs skill-wise. Fast forward to now and he is competing at a high level, is one of the top talents of his age group nationwide and is holding his own against the rest of the NBL1 team.
“His basketball IQ and ability to adapt in different game situations, I think is what sets him apart and is what will be on show this season. He will be a very very good leader, and he is already showing signs of this.”
As one of, if not the youngest players in the NBL1, Paul will continue to be a prospect to watch in 2025.
