Forward Abi Curtin has re-signed with the Kilsyth Cobras for the 2022 Coles Express NBL1 South season.
Curtin enjoyed a strong debut NBL1 season with the Cobras in 2021, averaging 7.2 points and 4.5 rebounds per contest.
The 6'1" forward gave the Cobras exceptional front court flexibility in 2021, able to play both the power forward and centre positions thanks to her high energy, physical style of play.
The former University of Denver standout’s fierce work ethic was on full display in Round 2, as she recorded season-highs of 14 points and seven rebounds over Hobart, leading the Cobras to a thrilling two-point home win over the Chargers.
She finished 2021 just as strong as she started, scoring in double figures in four of the final five games of the regular season.
Curtin has built on the momentum from her finish to 2021 with an impressive preseason to date, and head coach Hannah Lowe expects her hard work behind closed doors to pay off once the regular season tips-off.
"It’s great to have Abi Back at Kilsyth – she fit right in with the group in 2021 and I think will only continue to impact games more as we spend more time playing together," Lowe said.
"Through the break, I have seen Abi in the gym working on her game and I look forward to seeing that pay off when we start up again in April."
