Australian Opal Alanna Smith has signed with the NBL1 North Townsville Flames for the rest of the season.
Smith was recently playing for the Indiana Fever in the WNBA but now will join WNBL coach Shannon Seebohm and Opals teammate Stephanie Reid.

With the Adelaide Lightning last season, the 25-year-old made All-WNBL Second Team averaging 17.7 points per game and 9.1 rebounds per game. Smith’s Lightning made the semi-finals and lost to the eventual WNBL Champion Melbourne Boomers.
Smith’s basketball resume speaks for herself, with a silver medal in the 2018 FIBA Women’s World Cup, four seasons in the WNBA, 2020 Tokyo Olympian and All-WNBL team member, she will be a superstar for Seebomb’s Flames.
