In a previous interview with WIN News, Deans said “I did die … the first few days I couldn’t really comprehend it all because I was still saying I just fainted.”
He has since ended his college career and returned home to Tasmania, where he will once again recommence his basketball career.
“I love Australia and being home with my friends and family. It’s one of the most important things for me, and I feel like I have a really good support group here who really look out for me.
“I think the plan is to ease me in and get me going a bit, get a feel for playing with the guys.”
Deans played twice in his solitary season as a development player with the JackJumpers, and could make his first appearance for the Thunder this season against Geelong United on Saturday night.
NW Tasmania currently sits 14th on the NBL1 South ladder with a 5-6 record, they'll take on Geelong United on Saturday live from 7:00pm AEST live via NBL1.com.au or the NBL1 App.
