The Flames have the chance to make history on Saturday night, with the NBL1 West Grand Finals taking place at what will be a record-breaking RAC Arena event.
RAC Arena will be the largest capacity stadium in NBL1 history, and the Rockingham Flames and Cockburn Cougars will be the first matchup to test the waters.
Georgia Pineau, Rockingham Flames star, spoke on behalf of the team when she iterated that their dreams had come true of playing at the iconic stadium.
“It was the goal of ours all season to be at RAC Arena, and now we’re here,” Pineau said via the Fast Break Podcast.
Pineau made the move to the West this season after multiple seasons with the Sandringham Sabres in the NBL1 South.
Becoming a necessity for Rockingham this season due to injuries to Alex Sharp, Pineau is currently averaging 18.3 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game for the championship-contender.
The 27-year-old showed no signs of pressure when asked on their Grand Final against the defending champion Cougars.
“We just want to top off the end of the season with a championship,” Pineau said.
“We’re going to go into this game, we’re gonna go in really hard. Cockburn is a really good team.
“We just want to do it for each other.”
