The NBL1 Central champion Forestville Eagles have re-signed their superstar trio of Adam Doyle, Daniel Johnson and Greg Mays for the upcoming 2025 season.
After a dominant regular season finishing third on the ladder, the Eagles triumphed 92-90 in the Grand Final over the South Adelaide Panthers. In the National Finals, Forestville came up short to the Eltham Wildcats and the runners-up, the Mackay Meteors.
Starting with the All-Star Five member, Greg Mays was a revelation this past season. While there wasn’t a statistical improvement, his defence and scoring around Daniel Johnson was the missing piece to a championship run.
Speaking of, the 400-game NBL veteran showed no signs of slowing down – averaging 20.7 points, 9.3 rebounds and 3.9 assists at 36 years old.
Lastly, the pass-first playmaker and Johnson’s former Adelaide 36ers teammate, Adam Doyle, was instrumental to the team’s success this past season, averaging 10.9 points, 5.6 assists and 2.1 steals per game.
With the re-signing of championship coach Andy Simons, the Eagles have set the foundation for a back-to-back push this coming season.
