The Hills Hornets have begun their signing season with a bang, securing the signatures of Liam Moss, Cassie Pentney, Joe Patmore, Taylah Cottees, Paul Brotherson, Erica Pitman, David Hayman and Zoe Burke.
Moss is ready to make his mark on the inaugural Coles Express NBL1 East season.
After making his debut with Hills in 2018 and overcoming a knee injury, Moss has gone on to earn Male Player of the Year in 2019 and become a fan favourite within the Hills community.
In his 2021 season, Moss averaged 31 minutes each game returning an average of 21.22 points per game at 50 percent from the field and 7.22 rebounds.
This ranked him in the top five in two-point percentage and steals for the Waratah League season.
Since starting with Hills in 2018, Pentney has been a valuable asset to the community and the court.
She was not only our Female Player of the Year in 2019 but has continued to achieve throughout her time, ranking in the top five in free throws in the 2021 season.
As a Hills junior player since 2013, Patmore excelled in his first Waratah Men’s season in 2021.
With an average of 23 minutes a game, he returned six points and 5.73 rebounds a game.
Cottees is an incredibly talented athlete that you wouldn’t want to come up against in a fast break.
As the leader in blocks in the 2021 season, she is known for her insane athleticism and speed.
After joining the Hills community in 2018, she quickly skyrocketed to success.
A Hills junior, Brotherson went on to play college at MSU Denver and professionally in Germany.
Before suffering an injury in 2020, he was averaging an incredible 16 points and eight rebounds a game with a field-goal percentage of over 50 percent.
After playing in the US since 2019, Pitman returns to Australia to play in the 2022 NBL1 East season for Hills Hornets.
Despite the pandemic bringing her home early for the 2021 season, Pitman was the #3 point scorer in Waratah Youth League women.
She is a dynamic and explosive attacking point guard, who is ready to score big for Hills Hornets in 2022.
Hayman has been playing at the club his entire life, as an elite player and successful coach, with this season being his 10th in senior basketball.
With a wealth of basketball knowledge and leadership experience, Burke has been an integral member of the Hornets Women’s program, helping the Youth Women win the Championship banner in 2014.
After two consecutive seasons being interrupted by injury and COVID-19, Burke will hit the court running in 2022.
