254 NBL game veteran and current Tasmania JackJumpers assistant coach Jarrad Weeks will take on a new role, head coaching the Hobart Chargers for the 2025 NBL1 South season.
Previously acting as a "special advisor" for the club, Weeks will bring his NBL experience to enhance the men's side to new heights. While 2022 championship coach Anthony Stewert will transition into director of coaching for the Chargers according to Code Sports.
Darren Smith, COO of the JackJumpers, explained how the connection between the two clubs will further enhance basketball on Apple Isle.
"We are delighted to see Weeksy appointed as the head coach of the Hobart Chargers," he said.
"The appointment will allow both the JackJumpers and Chargers to have continued alignment, and for both clubs to continue to strengthen basketball at the elite level in the south of the state.”
