Keilor Thunder have announced Kristi Harrower as their NBL1 women's head coach for the 2024 season.
The Basketball Australia Hall of Famer and four-time Olympic medallist is one of the most decorated Opals in history,
Harrower's illustrious playing career includes four Olympic appearances from 2000 - 2012, claiming three silvers and one bronze as well as a gold medal in the 2006 FIBA World Championships.
The former WNBA player, WNBL MVP and two-time champion will now take her expertise to the NBL1 South and coach for Keilor.
Her coaching journey includes serving as the assistant coach for the Opals and is currently an assistant coach for he Melbourne Boomers.
The General Manager of Keilor Basketball Association, Jackson Taylor, explained how excited the club is to bring in the Australian great.
"We are absolutely delighted to welcome Kristi Harrower as the new NBL1 Women's Head Coach. Kristi's extensive experience, strategic insight, and unwavering passion for basketball make her the perfect fit to lead our NBL1 Women's team to new heights," they said.
"We are confident that her leadership will inspire our players and contribute to the continued success of our program."
Harrower echoed this sentiment and said she cannot wait to start building a new program.
"I am very excited to be a part of the Keilor Thunder family and lead the women’s program," she said.
"I can’t wait to work with the emerging young group of athletes at Keilor and to contribute to a culture of excellence, competitiveness, and development."
