The NBL1 North’s Logan Thunder have signed Aja Parham-Ammar as their women’s coach for the next two seasons.
Coming off multiple seasons as the men’s coach of the South West Metro Pirates, where she was named the 2023 Basketball Queensland’s Female Coach of the Year. She’ll now take over the women’s program from championship coach Brayden Heslehurst.
While it’s a new team for Parham-Ammar, Logan is familiar territory, as her husband grew up playing for the Thunder.
"The opportunity to return to the women’s side of NBL1 at Logan Thunder was simply too good to pass up! This team holds a special place in our heart,” she said.
“With its rich history of success and a fantastic junior program, I’m excited to dive in and help grow the Logan Thunder basketball community. As a female coach, I believe representation matters. I’m eager to give back to the game I love by inspiring the next generation of female athletes. I’m truly grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait for an amazing season ahead.”
On the men’s side, they have re-signed Luke Cann as the head coach for another two seasons.
