Mitsubishi Motors Australia is returning to the basketball court for the first time in 23 years with a three-year agreement to be the Official Vehicle Partner of the Coles Express NBL1 competition.

Mitsubishi Motors Australia is returning to the basketball court for the first time in 23 years with a three-year agreement to be the Official Vehicle Partner of the Coles Express NBL1 competition.
The community and grassroots focused partnership will link Mitsubishi Motors’ Australia-wide dealer network with NBL1 clubs in all states and territories around the country.
“We are excited to welcome Mitsubishi Motors back to basketball and have them as a major partner of NBL1,” NBL Chief Partnerships Officer Lauren Hansen said.
“We look forward to working with the entire Mitsubishi Motors team to create pathways and opportunities for young basketballers across the nation.
“We are confident this exciting deal will be the beginning of a long and mutually beneficial relationship, and it truly enhances the family of partners with other marquee brands such as Coles Express, Foot Locker, Kayo Sports, Zea and Base Compression all on board for the season.”
Mitsubishi Motors Australia is part of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, based in Tokyo, Japan, and was a major partner of basketball and the NBL competition for nine years beginning in the early 1990s.
“Mitsubishi Motors Australia and our national dealer network are thrilled to be supporting one of the fastest growing grassroots Australian sports,” Mitsubishi Motors Australia CEO Shaun Westcott said.
“We are proud to be the Official Vehicle Partner for the Coles Express NBL1 national basketball competition for the next three years.”
NBL1 East tipped off in mid-March, followed by NBL1 North on March 24, NBL1 Central on March 25, NBL1 West on March 31 and NBL1 South on April 1.
