NBL1 North MVP Jason Cadee says the Gold Coast Rollers have saved the love of basketball.
With basketball being all that Cadee has lived for, he admitted the past two years in the NBL have been a struggle for him mentally.
“Gold Coast has actually really saved my love for basketball the last few years,” Cadee said on the latest episode of The NBL1 Show.
The returning Adelaide 36ers’ point guard had moved from the Brisbane Bullets after a five-year stint with the club. As well as winning the conference title last year, Cadee and the Rollers have rocketed through the past couple of years.
“I've been involved in basketball my whole life so there's no doubt going to be tough times, but it's been really nice having Gold Coast there in the offseason to really just remind me why I love basketball.
“Just my enjoyment of it. A lot of people don't see the tough side of it, and I've definitely had extremely tough times through the last two years NBL-wise. Gold Coast has really helped me keep that enjoyment, keep that love.”
With some roadblocks over the last few years, Cadee said the Rollers as an organisation has been an enjoyable experience.
“The people we have around the club and the teammates I have, it just makes the whole experience really enjoyable," he said.
"Through those things, it's also made us successful as well, which has been pretty cool."
The NBL1 North Finals MVP will take on his former teammate Lamar Patterson in the Semi-Finals tomorrow night, from 7:00pm streaming Live & Free via Kayo Freebies here.
