Basketball superstar Rebecca Cole has re-signed with the National Championship-winning Waverley Falcons for the 2025 season.
Leading the Falcons' comeback from a 2-8 start last season, the WNBL champion was critical in maintaining a positive culture -- leading to the team's NBL1 South and eventual National championships last season.
In the NBL1 South, Cole averaged 19.4 points, five assists, 3.4 rebounds and two steals. She took her game to another level at the National Finals, scoring 33 points against the Bendigo Braves to claim the title.
Waverley General Manager and Championship coach Elias Palioyiannis said he cannot wait to have Cole back for another season.
"We are very excited to have Bec back for her fourth season with the club. Her second half of last season was elite and was a major part of us being able to turn our season around," he said.
"What she achieved as a player last year winning WNBL, NBL1 South and NBL1 National championships was an amazing achievement."
Cole suffered a season-ending hamstring injury in January with the WNBL's Southside Flyers, which will possibly affect her availability and impact to start the 2025 season.
She'll join co-captains Renae Mokrzycki and Amelia Todhunter for the 2025 roster thus far.
The NBL1 South starts March 29th. Stay up-to-date with all the latest signings via the Roster Tracker here.
