The Sturt Sabres women remained perfect with a 15th straight NBL1 Central win on Sunday while their men also kept the Southern Tigers winless for 2023 to close Round 13.
Sturt played host to the Tigers on Sunday to wrap up Round 13 in the NBL1 Central and the Sabres women won 76-57 before the men also prevailed 110-54.

Sabres beat Tigers to stay perfect
Round 13 in the NBL1 Central wrapped up on Sunday afternoon with the Sturt Sabres too strong for the Southern Tigers coming away with the 76-57 victory.
The Sabres put their perfect record on the line but the second placed Tigers did loom as a genuine threat for the match up at Springbank Secondary College.
In the battle of the top two teams, the Sabres started brilliantly to score 13 straight points and to be leading 28-15 over the Tigers at the end of one.
That lead for Sturt got out to 17 points in the second quarter, 25 in the third and they went on to score the 19-point victory to improve to a perfect 15-0 record on the season with two rounds remaining.
The Tigers do remain second at 10-5 despite the loss.
Mikayla Williams delivered another 19 points, 13 rebounds, two assists and two steals in the win for Sturt on 9/16 shooting with Nicola Matthews contributing 18 points, three assists and three steals with 3/5 shooting from beyond the three-point line.
Zoe Walker-Roberts added nine points, five rebounds and two assists, Mia Walker-Roberts eight points and three boards, and Kayla Matthews seven points, four assists, three rebounds and three steals.
Morgan Yaeger produced 18 points and six rebounds for the Tigers with Mariah Martin putting up 16 points, three boards and three steals, and Mollie McKendrick 10 points, seven rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Sabres deliver another big loss to Tigers
The Sturt Sabres delivered an emphatic performance to keep the Southern Tigers winless for the NBL1 Central season with a 110-54 home victory to close Round 13.
Sturt played host to the Tigers at Springbank Secondary College and the Sabres started strongly against the bottom placed team with 27 points to 19 in the first quarter.
The dominance of the Sabres then was even more stark in the second stanza as they outscored the Tigers 32 points to seven to score 20 consecutive points and lead by 33, and to be on top 59-26 by half-time.
It was another 26 points to seven in the third quarter before the Sabres cruised to the 56-point victory to improve to a 10-5 record on the season in third position with two rounds remaining. The Tigers stay winless at 0-15.
There was a lot to like from a Sturt perspective in the big win with Tobias Dowdell top-scoring off the bench in just over 17 minutes with 19 points, 11 rebounds and three steals on 7/12 shooting from the field and 4/5 at the foul line.
Jordan Forbes added 18 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals, Jacob Rigoni 17 points, seven boards, three steals and two assists, and Keanu Rasmussen 11 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals.
It was another tough loss for the Tigers despite 13 points, eight rebounds and two steals from Apiok Dau while Jett Thompson contributed 12 points and five boards, Jack King nine points and five rebounds, and Jok Bulabek nine points and five boards.
