Southern Districts Spartans defeated Rockhampton Rockets 103-76 at Rowland Cowan Stadium on Sunday.
In a true team effort, the Spartans shared the points distribution with a balanced attack and tallied 28 assists.
Five Spartans – CJ Massingale (20 points), Anei Mourter (14 points), Lamar Patterson (13 points), Noah Thomas (13 points), and Josh Derksen (12 points) – scored in double figures.
Despite the 27-point victory, the Spartans will rue their poor shooting from deep as they ht just 4 of 27 three-pointers.
Rockets forward Najeal Young scored a game-high 31 points and 14 rebounds.

USC Rip City won their fifth straight NBL1 North game with a 97-80 victory over Mackay Meteors at USC Sport Stadium on Sunday.
Rip City, with a 5-2 win-loss record, sit in fifth place on the ladder with wins against second-placed Mackay (6-2), third Brisbane (6-3) and fourth Townsville (5-3).
USC forward Tanner Krebs scored a game-high 34 points and team-high 13 rebounds. The Brisbane Bullets star, who averages 28.75 points per game after four games, hit 4 of 19 from deep and 6 of 8 from the charity stripe.
The Rip City backcourt of Isaih Tueta (22 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists) and Kyle Zunic (pictured, 18 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists) combined for 40 points, while forward Louis Ilton added 12 points.
USC used a 14-2 run to close out the third quarter and take a 13-point lead into the final period.
Krebs claimed bragging rights over Bullets teammate Harry Froling, who had a team-high 29 points and 15 rebounds.
Mackay’s Christopher Cedar (21 points) and Emmanuel Malou (17 points and 10 rebounds) also contributed for the away team.
