New Zealand Breakers' Sam Short and Sydney Uni Flames' Rebecca Pizzey are back on board for another Coles Express NBL1 South season.
They join newcomer Ally Marshall for the 2022 season.
Hailing from the Balwyn Blazers in the Eastern Districts Junior Basketball Association (EDJBA), Pizzey took her junior career to the Bulleen program for her Junior Championship career – one that saw her dominate the floorboards right across Victoria.
At WNBL level, she won a championship with the Southside Flyers before making the move to the Sydney Uni Flames this year.
Short has been around the NBL scene for a few years now with Melbourne United and this season with the New Zealand Breakers as a replacement player.
When these experiences are coupled with his five years at the NBL1/SEABL level for Ballarat, Short is ready to be a leader for Eltham's new group of players.
Marshall is another product from the Eastern Districts Junior Basketball Association (EDJBA), the competition of which has become a pipeline to the Eltham NBL1 program.
Starting out at the Koonung Comets, Marshall was a talented player from a very young age, playing her Junior Championship beginnings with Bulleen.
Graduating from the junior ranks of U18 basketball in 2021, and after a long and distinguished Victorian state team career, Marshall now makes her first steps into senior basketball, making the move to Eltham for the NBL1 season.
