The Norths Bears have signed Mike Golding and Kate Seebohm as their inaugural Coles Express NBL1 East players.
Golding is the son of Norths’ founding President and Life Member Doug Golding and has been at Norths his whole life, playing all his junior and senior representative years for Norths.
He has previously worked as a CSO and is currently a junior rep coach.
Golding is well known for his total commitment to every game and never takes a backward step.
He is a strong defender and rebounder who is respected by his teammates, opponents and fans.
Whatever the game, when he leaves the court, you know he has nothing left to give.
Golding has achieved many accolades over his years playing for the club (including 2015, 2017, and 2019 Norths Senior Defensive Player of the Year), and was a key member of the Norths’ Men when they won the 2017 NSW Waratah League Championship.
Golding is also a top 3x3 player and was a Big Hustle Uni 3x3 National Champion in 2017, 2018, and 2019.
He is currently ranked in the top 10 3x3 players in Australia.
Since coming to Norths in 2017, Seebohm has been a key part of the success of the Women’s team when they took out the Waratah 1 Championships in 2018 and 2020.
She was the Waratah 1 Women Defensive Player of the Year for 2018, 2019 and 2020, and was also in the All-Star 5 in 2020.
Seebohm seems to have inexhaustible supplies of energy which she combines with lightning reflexes to make her the terror of all opponents she guards.
Combine this with great transition and ball-handling skills and Seebohm provides spark for any team she plays in.
