He now joins the fifth-on-the-ladder Redbacks, which have been one of the best team’s in the men’s division this season featuring import stars Bryton Hobbs and Tevin Jackson.
Coach Charles Nix says he's excited to finally reunite with Okwera.
“I’m excited to be working with David again after some time together in the U/20’s program a couple of years ago," he said.
"Outside of his incredible basketball talent, which is undoubted, he is a fantastic young man off the court and will add more quality to our culture. It was a little out of the blue but I’m really happy that we could make this happen for both us as a club and for David, my expectation is that he’ll come in and contribute on and off court significantly while he is a Redback."
