The South West Metro Pirates have re-signed key trio Susan McHugh, Cameron Gordon and Christian Pang.
McHugh has just finished a great U21 SQJBC season where she was the top point scorer for the Pirates, averaging 17 points a game.
She also scored a game-high 24 points twice and 23 twice.
Pirates Women's Head Coach Brad George was delighted to welcome McHugh back into the line-up for the 2022 Coles Express NBL1 North season.
"Sue is a great young point guard who I’m excited to see take on more responsibility and thrive in the role," he said.
"She has a great work ethic and willingness to learn and make the necessary sacrifices to continue to develop her game which we will benefit from this season."
Gordon, a South West Junior, returned from last year's U20 Nationals with a gold medal representing Queensland.
He also has just finished his U21 representative season being the top Pirate scorer, averaging 18 points a game.
His athleticism and ability to dunk the ball make him an exciting young player to watch.
"It’s great to be back for another year with the Pirates under coach Steve (Edwards)," Gordon said.
"The culture built around the club from the players, coaches and volunteers is the best place for me and my development."
Pang is a leader on and off the court and is respected by coach and player alike.
He creates and builds a culture within a team and has been a driver in doing that for the Pirates over a number of years.
"We have a talented group of guys and we really grew together last year," Pang said.
"We will look to improve and continue that development this year.
"I’m looking forward to doing everything I can to help the team win this season."
