NBL1 National Finals All-Star Five member and NBL1 North champion Emmett Naar has signed with the Rockingham Flames for the 2025 NBL1 West season.
The playmaking savant was the conductor behind Mackay’s championship run, now joining former Meteors teammate Isaac White on the Flames next season.
Naar averaged 8.4 points, 9.2 assists and 2.6 rebounds last season for the Meteors, making him a perfect fit for Ryan Petrik’s fast-paced offence.
“Emmett is a huge signing for us, adding another guard who can elevate others around him with his ability to create offence,” Petrik said.
“To have almost a five-to-one assist-to-turnover ratio, in the elite NBL1 North, is super impressive. He then backed that up by averaging almost a triple-double at the National tournament. The guy knows how to hoop, and we can’t wait to get started with him.”
During the National Finals, Naar took his game to another level -- averaging 17.3 points, 14.6 assists and 8.3 rebounds – being named to the tournament All-Star Five as a result.
Currently playing with the NBL’s Brisbane Bullets as an injury replacement, Naar will come into the season with in-game experience and cannot wait to take on a new challenge out West.
“I’m really excited to join Rockingham and have the opportunity to play for a championship in the NBL1 West,” he said.
“I’ve heard great things about the club and I’m looking forward to playing in front of our fans, and competing with the rest of the guys on the team.”
