Dramatic night in the NBL1 North with Kendell Heremaia scoring the winning basket for the North Gold Coast Seahawks while Jeremy Kendle returned in stunning fashion for Southern Districts Spartans, and Zac Tripplett again delivered for Logan Thunder.
Friday night's women's results saw Logan Thunder beat the Brisbane Capitals 83-71, the Southern Districts Spartans defeat the Gold Coast Rollers 82-69, and the Rockhampton Cyclones down the Mackay Meteorettes 95-65.
The Ipswich Force also beat the Sunshine Coast Phoenix 79-74, the Townsville Flames won 108-64 against the South West Metro Pirates, and the North Gold Coast Seahawks defeated the Darwin Salties 83-81.
The men's fixtures saw the Thunder beat the Capitals 86-83, the Spartans defeated the Rollers 114-113, the Meteors downed the Rockets 109-94, the Phoenix beat the Force 95-90, the Heat won 92-91 against the Pirates, and the Salties defeated the Seahawks 121-88.

Brisbane Capitals (71) lost to Logan Thunder (83)
Mikhaela Cann was aggressive and just missed a triple-double but led Logan Thunder to the 83-71 road win against the Brisbane Capitals.
The two teams are locked in a battle for a playoff position raising the stakes of the match up at Auchenflower Stadium and it was Logan who got the better of the start attempting to bounce back from a loss to the South West Metro Pirates.
The Thunder had already opened up a 26-19 lead by quarter-time and maintained control the rest of the evening despite being away from home.
The Logan lead grew to 11 points in the second quarter and 16 in the third before the Thunder ended up scoring the 12-point victory to further close in on a spot in the top six with a 6-7 record.
Mikhaela Cann delivered 25 points, eight assists and seven rebounds on the back of going a perfect 12/12 at the foul line for Logan.
Chevannah Paalvast also had 22 points, five rebounds and five assists with Sharni Reisinger contributing 11 points and five boards, and Prasayus Notoa six points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Brisbane slips to 7-6 with the loss to put their spot in the top six in jeopardy with Megan Mullings producing 16 points and five rebounds, Lil Dart 15 points and six assists, Hannah Hank 14 points and eight rebounds, and Hannah Young 13 points and five boards.
The Capitals will be at home again next Saturday to the Townsville Flames with Logan on the road to the Ipswich Force.

Gold Coast Rollers (69) lost to Southern Districts Spartans (82)
The Southern Districts Spartans started on fire away from home to set up the eventual 82-69 victory against the Gold Coast Rollers to consolidate a playoff position.
Southern Districts arrived at Carrara Stadium to take on the Rollers having won four straight games to be sitting in fifth position while Gold Coast had slipped from playoff contention having lost the past three matches.
The Spartans made an impressive start hitting nine straight points in the first quarter on the way to building a 15-point advantage and still leading 27-15 by quarter-time.
That set the tone for the rest of the evening with Southern Districts in control with the visitors going on to lead by as much as 16 points in the second quarter, in 17 in the third and 24 in the fourth.
The Spartans would end up scoring the 23-point victory to make it five consecutive wins to improve to a 9-4 record with Maddy Allen producing 17 points, five assists, three steals and two rebounds while Ariana Moorer added 15 points, 10 boards, five assists and four steals.
Kalani Purcell also had 12 points, three rebounds and three assists, Steph Bairstow 10 points and three boards, and Odette Isaac seven points, six assists, four rebounds and two steals.
The Rollers have now lost four straight to slip to 3-10 on the season with Myah Selland finishing with 24 points, 11 rebounds and three assists on 10/12 shooting from the field and 4/4 from three-point land.
Jayla Cassidy contributed 13 points and two rebounds, Kate Deeble nine points, four boards and two assists, and Lisa Koop seven points, six rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots.
Gold Coast will be back at home on Friday night to the Rockhampton Cyclones with the Sparks also hosting the Townsville Flames.

Rockhampton Cyclones (95) defeated Mackay Meteorettes (65)
Sam Bowman put in a dominant 26-point, 22-rebound performance as the Rockhampton Cyclones kept in touch with the top two teams by beating the Mackay Meteorettes 95-65.
The Cyclones were back home at Bravus Arena having won their last couple of games to maintain touch with the Northside Wizards and Townsville Flames in the top two places.
Rockhampton played host to a Mackay team also fresh off a last up win against the Sunshine Coast Phoenix and after a tight first quarter with the Cyclones leading 25-21 by the end of one, the home team took charge.
Rockhampton completed a 22-0 scoring run during the second quarter which saw last year's grand finalists open up a 26-point lead and to go into half-time in control 56-30.
The lead kept on growing in the second half for the Cyclones getting out to 28 points in the third frame, 30 in the fourth and that would be the final margin as Rockhampton improved to a 9-3 record.
Sam Bowman put in a dominant performance for the Cyclones made up of 26 points, 22 rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocked shots on 12/21 shooting from the floor.
Lara McSpadden also had 21 points and seven rebounds, Lauren Heard 20 points, 10 boards, five assists and four steals, and Morgan Yaeger 18 points, five assists and three rebounds.
Mackay slips to a 5-8 record with the defeat with Taylor Mole top-scoring with 20 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Samantha Haiby added 13 points, six rebounds and two steals, Cheyenne Bobongie seven points, four boards and two assists, and Nikita Van Wyk seven points and two rebounds.
Rockhampton is on the road again on Friday night to the Gold Coast Rollers with Mackay also away to the Cairns Dolphins on Friday and then Darwin Salties on Saturday.

Sunshine Coast Phoenix (74) lost to Ipswich Force (79)
One of the two teams was going to score their second win of the season and it was the Ipswich Force getting that with Kate Head instrumental in the 79-74 victory against the Sunshine Coast Phoenix.
Both Sunshine Coast and Ipswich had just one win to their credit so far in the season ahead of meeting at Maroochydore Stadium so while playoffs are out of the question, avoiding the wooden spoon is still a chance.
It was the Phoenix who had the better of the start on their home floor to lead 24-19 by quarter-time but Ipswich closed that gap in the second quarter and by half-time it was Sunshine Coast just clinging to the 43-42 advantage.
The Force then worked on top in the third quarter with 16 points to 10 and that's where ultimately they set up the five-point victory to improve to 2-10 on the season.
Kate Head starred in the win for Ipswich with 24 points, three assists, two rebounds and two steals on 8/14 shooting from the field and 7/8 at the free-throw line.
Kahlaijah Dean also had 17 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals, and Amanda Cahill 11 points, 12 boards, three assists and two steals.
Sunshine Coast remains in bottom spot at 1-12 now having lost seven straight with Carlie Smith finishing with 25 points, 16 rebounds, five assists and three steals on 11/21 shooting.
Amy Browne added 14 points, seven rebounds and four assists while Haylee Andrews contributed 10 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds.
The Phoenix will play host to the Gold Coast Rollers on Saturday night with Ipswich hosting Logan Thunder the same evening.

Townsville Flames (108) defeated South West Metro Pirates (64)
Kate Gaze put up 34 points and the Townsville Flames kept their hold over second position with the 108-64 home victory against the South West Metro Pirates.
The Flames were back home at StarFM Stadium on a three-game winning streak and looking to stay clear in second spot up against a Pirates team having beaten Cairns the previous night to keep their own playoff hopes alive.
However, Townsville shot out of the blocks on their home floor with 29 points to 14 in the first quarter and never looked back.
The lead for the Flames continued to grow throughout the evening in front of their home fans with Townsville opening up a 23-point advantage in the second stanza, 40 in the third and 48 in the fourth.
The Flames would end up winning by 44 points to improve to an 11-2 record on the season with Kate Gaze delivering 34 points, three assists and two rebounds on 14/20 shooting from the floor, 3/6 from three-point range and 3/3 at the charity stripe.
Indiah Bowyer also had 17 points, six assists and four rebounds, Ella Tofaeono 11 points and 10 boards, Katherine Andersen 10 points and six rebounds, and Alex Fowler nine points, four assists, two boards and two steals.
South West Metro splits its weekend in the Far North to now sit on a 7-6 record with Leah Scott battling hard once more with 28 points, eight rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocked shots.
Alana Fraser also had eight points, two rebounds and two assists for the Pirates.
Townsville is on the road next weekend to the Southern Districts Spartans on Friday and Brisbane Capitals on Saturday while the Pirates are away to the Northside Wizards on Saturday.

Darwin Salties (81) lost to North Gold Coast Seahawks (83)
Just as overtime looked likely, Kendell Heremaia made a strong finish going to the basket as the buzzer sounded to deliver the North Gold Coast Seahawks the 83-81 road victory over the Darwin Salties.
With the Seahawks looking to maintain a top four spot and the Salties attempting to break into the top six, it always loomed as a fascinating match up at Darwin Basketball Stadium, and it certainly delivered.
No more than seven points separated the two teams throughout the entire contest with Darwin on top by three at quarter-time before North Gold Coast turned that around to go into half-time on top 43-37.
The Salties then outscored the Seahawks 25 points to 19 in the third period to have scores all square heading into the final period, and the stage was set for a big finish.
The Seahawks looked to have a match-winning when Jessica Boundy hit a three-pointer to give the visitors a seven-point lead with just over three minutes to go, but the Salties came biting back.
Six quick points from Abigail Curtin suddenly had Darwin back within a point before she made a tough driving layup with a minute to play to level scores up once more.
Ruby Porter then had a chance at the foul line to give the Salties the lead, but she missed both only for Mikaela Ruef to grab the rebound, dish off to Kendell Heremaia and let her run the floor, go to the rack and finish strongly.
That put North Gold Coast in front by two points as the buzzer sounded with the win improving them to 10-4 on the season to hit back from two straight losses.
Miela Goodchild continued her career-best form with another 28 points, three rebounds and two assists with Mikaela Ruef producing another 27 points, 19 boards, six assists and three steals.
Majella Carey also had 12 points, four assists and three rebounds on 6/7 shooting.
The Salties remain out of the playoff spots now at 7-7 having lost their past four with Ashley Harris finishing with 19 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and two blocked shots.
Abigail Curtin also had 16 points, six rebounds and two assists, Ruby Porter 16 points and nine assists, Zoe Campbell 16 points and 10 boards, and Cat MacGregor 14 points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Darwin is at home next Saturday night to the Mackay Meteorettes while the Seahawks host the Rockhampton Cyclones.

Brisbane Capitals (83) lost to Logan Thunder (86)
Gabe Hadley and Zac Triplett had quite the fascinating battle with the Logan Thunder ending up prevailing in overtime 86-83 against the Brisbane Capitals.
Third position in the NBL1 North went on the line between the two teams at Auchenflower Stadium and it was a contest that more than lived up to its billing particularly with Hadley and Triplett going toe-to-toe with one another for a lot of the evening.
While the Capitals managed to open up a seven-point lead in the second quarter, by half-time Logan had closed the gap and Brisbane was just clinging to the 39-36 advantage.
Logan then worked on top in the third quarter and even had a 10-point lead in the fourth period, but Brisbane fired back and set up a thrilling finish.
A three-point play from Shaun Bruce and then a jumper from Chris Cedar gave Logan that 10-point lead with only just over three minutes to play, but the Caps responded and by the time Hadley hit from downtown, it was back to a three-point game.
It was then Isaiah Tueta who hit another triple for the Thunder to tie scores up and that's where scores would stay with Sam McDaniel unable to capitalise and make his desperation three on the buzzer after stealing the ball from Cedar.
It set up a fascinating overtime period and after Hadley hit another triple to give Brisbane the two-point with just under a minute to play, Cedar converted an and-one play for Logan to return the visitors to the lead.
The Thunder then extended the lead with a dunk in transition to Triplett and that would be enough to secure the memorable and important three-point victory.
The win improves Logan to a 10-3 record and to stay in third position with Zac Triplett putting up 21 points and nine rebounds.
Callum Dalton added 17 points and 14 rebounds, Chris Cedar 20 points, two boards and two steals, and Shaun Bruce 15 points, eight rebounds and five assists.
Brisbane's seven-game winning streak came to an end with the Capitals now 8-5 on the season with Gabe Hadley continuing his impressive form with another 23 points, six rebounds and three assists.
Sam McDaniel added 15 points, three rebounds and three assists, Isaih Tueta 13 points, and Geordan Papacostas 11 points, three boards and two assists.
The Capitals will be at home again next Saturday to the Townsville Heat with Logan on the road to the Ipswich Force.

Gold Coast Rollers (113) lost to Southern Districts Spartans (114)
Jeremy Kendle marked his return to the NBL1 North in the most stunning fashion hitting the game winner in overtime to see the Southern Districts Spartans beat the Gold Coast Rollers 114-113.
Last time Kendle played in the NBL1 North was back in 2022 with Logan and he marked his return on Saturday night with Southern Districts needing to call in some reinforcements with both Mitch Norton and Tyrell Harrison on national duties with the Boomers and Tall Blacks respectively.
The Spartans arrived at Carrara Stadium in sixth position in the NBL1 North as they took on a Gold Coast team coming off playing in the past two Grand Finals, and trying to break back into the top six on the back of beating the Cairns Marlins.
The two teams put on quite the remarkable spectacle over the next 45 minutes and by quarter-time they couldn’t be separated already with scores level at 30-30.
It was the Spartans leading narrowly by three points at half-time before another 31 points to 25 in the third quarter to see Southern Districts out to a nine-point lead at three quarter-time.
Gold Coast hit back in the fourth quarter and ultimately it was a massive pull up three-pointer from way downtown from reigning MVP Jason Cadee that sent the game into overtime with scores level at 101-101 at the end of the first 40 minutes.
The overtime period was all about Kendle and he came out hitting the first six points for Southern Districts before knocking down the last score of the game with a three-pointer to give the Spartans the one-point lead, which they would end up winning by.
The win keeps the Spartans inside the top six with a 7-6 record despite the absence of Mitch Norton and Tyrell Harrison.
Jeremy Kendle was into the team having played in New Zealand and Syria since his last stint in the NBL1 North. He finished with 27 points, 10 assists and six rebounds to show he's lost nothing since last being in Australia.
Jarred Bairstow added 26 points, five rebounds and four assists on 11/16 shooting while Corey Shervill contributed 22 points and 11 boards, Mason Honeyman 17 points and three assists, and Max Kerle 10 points.
Gold Coast remains outside a playoff position with the loss with a 5-8 record with Preston Le Gassick delivering another 25 points, five assists, four rebounds and three steals.
Reed Nottage also had 23 points and 12 rebounds on 10/16 shooting with Jason Cadee producing 21 points, 10 assists and five rebounds with his lone three-point make the one that sent the game to overtime.
Boston Mazlin also had 19 points, six rebounds and four assists, Daniel Titus 11 points and five boards, and Jaryd Eustace 10 points and seven rebounds.
Gold Coast will be back at home on Friday night to the Rockhampton Rockets with the Sparks also hosting the Townsville Heat.

Rockhampton Rockets (94) lost to Mackay Meteors (109)
The Mackay Meteors maintained their hold on top spot in the NBL1 North with the 109-94 road victory over the Rockhampton Rockets with Jerron Jamerson delivering 26 points.
Mackay arrived at Bravus Arena needing to keep winning to maintain top spot while the Rockets were also precariously placed inside the top six setting the stage for another crucial match up for both teams.
It was a high scoring opening with the two teams combining for 61 points in the first quarter with the Meteors narrowly leading 32-29 by quarter-time.
Mackay were able to build on that lead with another 24 points to 18 in the second stanza to go into the half-time break leading 56-47.
The Meteors would keep on growing that advantage and it got out to as much as 15 points in the second half which would be the final margin as they improved to 12-1 on the season in top spot despite going just 4/23 as a team from three-point territory.
Jerron Jamerson ended up top-scoring in the win for Mackay with 26 points, seven rebounds and three assists on shooting 8/12 from the field and 9/10 from the foul line.
Isaac White added 25 points, nine rebounds, six assists and three steals with Todd Blanchfield contributing 21 points and six boards, Luca Yates 16 points and six rebounds, and Emmett Naar 11 points and nine assists.
Rockhampton slips to a 6-6 record on the season with the defeat despite getting another huge performance from Xavier Ford made up of 33 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Nighael Ceaser added 16 points, nine rebounds, five assists and three steals, Cameron Goldfinch 14 points and four boards, Matur Maker 13 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists, and Ben Tweedy 12 points and 10 assists.
Rockhampton is on the road again on Friday night to the Gold Coast Rollers with Mackay also away to the Cairns Marlins on Friday and then Darwin Salties on Saturday.

Sunshine Coast Phoenix (95) defeated Ipswich Force (90)
The defending champion Ipswich Force couldn’t quite build on the momentum from the previous night with the Sunshine Coast Phoenix scoring the 95-90 home victory.
Ipswich came into the weekend in second last place and the playoffs were slipping out of reach, but the return of Deng Deng sparked them into life and to an impressive Friday night win at home to the Northside Wizards.
They then arrived at Maroochydore Stadium looking to keep the momentum going against a Phoenix team also trying to break into the top six but having lost their past three matches.
On the back of the momentum from the previous night, Ipswich went on a 12-0 run in the first quarter to turn an early five-point deficit into a seven-point lead, but Sunshine Coast worked on top by quarter-time to lead 26-24.
While the Force never gave up the fight, the Phoenix gradually built on that lead the rest of the evening with it growing to as much as seven points in the second quarter, nine in the third and 10 in the fourth.
Sunshine Coast then held out Ipswich down the stretch to score the five-point win to stay in the playoff race improving to a 6-7 record on the season.
Jamaal Robateau led the way in the win for the Phoenix with 25 points, five assists and three rebounds with 6/13 three-point shooting.
Duom Dawam delivered 21 points, 11 rebounds and three assists with Kobe McDowell-White contributing 16 points, eight assists and three boards, Nelson Kahler 16 points and 15 rebounds, and Jeryn Lucas nine points and four boards.
Ipswich is now 4-9 on the season having split its weekend with Nathan Sobey putting up 23 points, eight assists and four rebounds.
Deng Deng added 21 points and six rebounds, DJ Mitchell 19 points, nine boards, five assists and three steals, and Henry Pwono 12 points and six rebounds.
The Phoenix will play host to the Gold Coast Rollers on Saturday night with Ipswich hosting Logan Thunder the same evening.

Townsville Heat (92) defeated South West Metro Pirates (91)
Ethan Betts came up huge late to help lead the Townsville Heat to consecutive victories to beat the South West Metro Pirates 92-91 in a thriller at home on Saturday night.
Townsville were back home at StarFM Stadium on the back of their third win of the season last Friday against the Gold Coast Rollers ahead of hosting a Pirates team fresh off a loss on Friday to the Cairns Marlins.
It would end up being a tight contest all evening with no more than seven points separating the two teams at any point.
Townsville managed to hold a one-point lead at the end of the first quarter before scores were tied at 48-48 by half-time.
The biggest break of the game came midway through the fourth quarter with the Pirates out to a seven-point lead on the back of three-point bombs from Tobias Rotegaard and Brendan Teys.
That put the pressure back on Townsville to respond and it was Ethan Betts who led his team back starting with a three-pointer to cut the deficit to four.
Even though Kai Woodfall answered with another triple for South West Metro, Townsville were up for the fight with Richard Peachey scoring his team's next five points, and then Michael Cedar knocked down a three ball to tie scores up.
Then in the final minute, Matthew Rees forced the turnover on Ben Volkman that led to the go-ahead bucket in transition to Betts.
Teys ended up making 1/2 at the foul line for the Pirates to keep the Heat up by one before Betts missed two free throws to keep the door ajar for the visitors.
Rotegaard did get off a shot at the game winner at the buzzer, but it wouldn’t fall and Townsville won by a point to make it consecutive victories and to improve to 4-9 on the season.
Richard Peachey top-scored for the Heat with 29 points and five rebounds on 11/17 shooting with evergreen veteran Michael Cedar adding 15 points, five boards and four assists.
Ethan Betts also had 14 points, eight assists, five rebounds and two steals, Marshall Wilson 14 points and five rebounds, and Kyle Leslie nine points, 10 boards and three assists.
South West Metro is now 4-9 following the two road losses in Far North Queensland this weekend with the continued absence of Lamar Patterson with Kai Woodfall finishing with 24 points, four assists and three rebounds with 6/14 three-point shooting.
Brendan Teys also had 17 points and six assists, Jeremy McLaughlin 12 points and seven rebounds, Christian Pang 11 points and three boards, Tobias Rotegaard 11 points and five rebounds, and Ben Volkman 10 points and 10 boards.

The Darwin Salties unleashed their arsenal once more with Wani Swaka Lo Buluk, Makuach Maluach and Deba George combining for 75 points and 16 three-pointers in the 121-88 home win against the North Gold Coast Seahawks.
The Salties were back home at Darwin Basketball Stadium out to bounce back from a loss to the Brisbane Capitals as the Seahawks arrived in the Top End having lost their past couple of games too.
It didn’t take long for Darwin to take control of the contest with 31 points to 18 in the first quarter though.
The Salties continued to build on that advantage throughout the evening as the lead grew to 30 points in the second term, 35 in the third and 41 in the fourth before the home team scored the 33-point victory.
Darwin knocked down 21/36 from three-point range as a team in the win that improves them to 11-3 on the season with Wani Swaka Lo Buluk finishing with 29 points on 6/8 three-point shooting.
Deba George also knocked down 5/8 from the land of plenty for 23 points to go with four rebounds, four assists and three steals with Makuach Maluach adding 22 points, nine boards and four assists on hitting 5/11 from long-range.
Chier Maker also contributed 12 points, four rebounds and three assists with Kouat Noi adding seven points, seven rebounds and 10 assists.
North Gold Coast has now lost three straight to be 5-9 on the season with Cameron Healy continuing his strong recent form with another 30 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals on 11/17 shooting.
