It was a pair of Heritage Round wins in the NBL1 South for the Hobart Chargers and Geelong United on Friday night against the Launceston Tornadoes/North West Tasmania Thunder, and Mount Gambier Pioneers.
The two Friday night women's matches in the NBL1 South saw the Hobart Chargers defeated the Launceston Tornadoes 96-85 and Geelong United downed the Mount Gambier Pioneers 76-60.
Then in the men's contests, the Chargers defeated the North West Tasmania Thunder 88-73 and Geelong United downed Mount Gambier 84-77.

Hobart Chargers (96) defeated Launceston Tornadoes (85)
The Hobart Chargers withstood 39 points from Keely Froling to win the battle of Tasmania with the Friday night 96-85 home victory against the Launceston Tornadoes.
The two Tasmanian teams locked horns at Hobart Netball and Sports Centre with both teams having their turn of a four-point lead in the opening quarter.
By quarter-time it was a 24-21 lead for the Chargers on their home floor before the home team pushed out to an eight-point advantage in the second period and were still on top 52-46 at the main break.
Hobart pulled away further in the third quarter with the lead growing out to as much as 17 points, and that would prove a game-winning advantage with the Chargers to end up winning by 11.
The victory improves Hobart to a 5-9 record on the season with Jayda Jansen outstanding with 29 points, five rebounds and four assists with 5/7 from three-point territory.
Cierra Walker also put up 27 points, eight rebounds, four steals and three assists, Zoe Banks 12 points, Zoe Richards 10 points, six boards and two blocks, and Chloe Broomhall eight points, 14 rebounds, six assists and four steals.
The Tornadoes are now 4-10 with the defeat with Keely Froling outstanding with 39 points and six rebounds on shooting 15/26 from the floor and 7/8 from the foul line.
Sarah O'Neill also had 12 points and two assists, Lore Devos 10 points, 13 rebounds, four assists and two steals, and Macey Crawford 10 points, six assists and two boards.
The Chargers now don't play again until hosting the Sandringham Sabres on Friday June 14 while the Tornadoes are in action the following day hosting the Sabres as well.

Mount Gambier Pioneers (60) lost to Geelong United (76)
Geelong United remained in the NBL1 South playoff hunt making it back-to-back wins beating the Mount Gambier Pioneers 76-60 on the road on Friday night.
Going back to the start of this month and it was Geelong who handed Mount Gambier its first loss of the season at The Arena ahead of the rematch on Friday night at Wulanda Recreation and Convention Centre.
It was a Pioneers team without Zitina Aokuso who is currently with the Australian Opals in China and Geelong arrived knowing it needed to keep winning to stay in touch of a playoff position.
It was Geelong United holding onto a three-point lead by the end of the first quarter but the visitors started to pull away in the second term with a 12-point lead and to be on top 37-28 by the half-time break.
Geelong continued to build on that lead in the second half and it grew to as much as 16 points before they ended up securing the 16-point victory to improve to 6-7 on the season as a result.
Shaneice Swain continued her standout season with another 24 points, six rebounds and three blocked shots with Jada Rice contributing 17 points and eight boards.
Lasha Petree also had 17 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals for Geelong, Sarah Elsworthy 14 points and eight boards, and Eva Braslis four points, nine rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots.
Mount Gambier slips to 9-4 having lost its last three matches despite Sherrie Calleia putting up 23 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Zoe Hurley also had 11 points and five rebounds, Samantha Fatkin 10 points and five boards, and Isa Brancatisano eight points and eight rebounds.
Mount Gambier hits the road next Friday night to play Keilor Thunder with Geelong United to back up on the road on Sunday to the Eltham Wildcats.

Hobart Chargers (88) defeated North West Tasmania Thunder (73)
The Hobart Chargers made it three consecutive wins on Friday night winning the battle of Tasmania 88-73 at home to the North West Tasmania Thunder.
The Chargers were back home at Hobart Netball and Sports Centre on a two-game winning run hosting a North West team trying to bounce back from a loss to the Waverley Falcons and looking to stay in the playoff race.
Hobart were leading 20-16 by quarter-time and then would end up taking charge further in the second period by opening up a lead as big as 15 points before heading into the half-time break on top 42-33.
The lead for the Chargers grew to as much as 17 points in the final quarter as well before the home team would go on to score the 15-point victory in the clash of the two Tasmanian teams in the NBL1 South.
The victory improves Hobart to a 9-5 record on the season with three consecutive wins with Vionte Daniels starring with 31 points, three steals, two assists and two rebounds on 10/19 shooting from the field, 3/5 from downtown and 8/8 at the foul line.
Terrell Brown added 21 points, four assists and three rebounds, Ole Angerstein 15 points and nine boards, and Joe Chilcott six points, six rebounds and two assists.
North West Tasmania are now 6-8 on the season with the defeat which saw Seth Swalve top-score with 32 points, five rebounds and three assists with 6/9 shooting from three-point land.
Sekou Sylla contributed 12 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and two steals, and Isaac Atuer 10 points.
The Chargers now don't play again until hosting the Sandringham Sabres on Friday June 14 while the Thunder are in action the following day hosting the Sabres as well.

Mount Gambier Pioneers (77) lost to Geelong United (84)
Geelong United returned to the NBL1 South winner's list and handed Mount Gambier Pioneers consecutive losses with the 84-77 Friday night victory on the road.
Mount Gambier were back at home at Wulanda Recreation and Convention Centre attempting to bounce back from a loss last Friday at home to the Eltham Wildcats.
Geelong arrived having lost two straight as well and it was the visitors clinging to a one-point lead at quarter-time before the Pioneers had worked on top in the second quarter to go into half-time leading 39-34.
Mount Gambier threatened to pull away early in the second half with a lead as big as nine points, but then Geelong responded to end up outscoring the Pioneers 20 points to 12 in the period to grab the lead.
United then went on with the job in the final period to end up scoring the seven-point victory to improve to a 5-8 record in the process by snapping a two-game losing run.
George Blagojevic was the star of the evening for Geelong with 24 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and two steals on shooting 9/13 from the field and 3/4 from behind the three-point arc.
Latrell Jones also ended up with 18 points and seven rebounds, DeMarcus Gatlin 17 points, eight boards and four assists, and Desmond Owili 10 points and 10 rebounds.
It's consecutive defeats for Mount Gambier who are now 9-4 on the season with Nick Marshall amassing 30 points, eight rebounds and three steals.
Akech Aliir also had 12 points, eight rebounds and two assists, Dylan Marshall 11 points and three boards, and Kane de Wit seven points, six assists, three steals and two rebounds.
