The Geelong United women led by Lasha Petree held out the Eltham Wildcats on Sunday in the NBL1 South while Angus Glover and Owen Foxwell fired the Wildcats to the win with 42 points and seven threes.
There were just the two games in the NBL1 South on Sunday with the Geelong United women beating the Eltham Wildcats 83-79 before the Wildcats men turned the tables for the 92-70 victory.

Eltham Wildcats (79) lost to Geelong United (83)
Geelong United continued their winning form to stay in the NBL1 South playoff hunt and held out the fast finishing Eltham Wildcats for the 83-79 victory.
The Wildcats were back on their home floor at Montmorency Secondary College for the Sunday afternoon match up coming off winning their past three matches including the previous night against the Diamond Valley Eagles.
Geelong also arrived on the back of beating the Mount Gambier Pioneers on Friday night and it was United who kept the momentum going with 27 points to 14 in the first quarter.
Geelong scored 15 straight points n that first period and led by as much as 22 points and from there were able to maintain a lot of that advantage the rest of the afternoon but the Wildcats weren’t giving up.
United were still leading by 14 points at half-time and nine at three quarter-time before pushing back out to a 17-point advantage in the final stanza.
It would prove a stunning fightback from Eltham and a three-pointer from Shannon Dufficy made it a four-point ball game with four minutes to play.
Geelong responded with a triple from Lasha Petree and then a three-point play from Sarah Elsworthy would end up being enough for the visitors to hold on by four points but it was quite an impressive fighting effort from the Wildcats.
Geelong improve to a 7-7 record now as well on the back of three straight wins with Lasha Petree delivering 23 points, six rebounds and two steals on 5/10 three-point shooting.
Sarah Elsworthy added 20 points, eight boards, four steals and three assists, Eve Braslis 18 points and three rebounds, and Jada Rice 14 points, 18 boards and three blocked shots.
Eltham slip to a 7-7 record with the defeat to be clinging to eighth position with Hailey Leidel producing 17 points and 11 rebounds while Bec Pizzey contributed 15 points, 12 boards, four assists and two blocked shots.
Shannon Dufficy added 13 points and three rebounds, Lily Scanlon 11 points and six assists, Erin Riley nine points, six boards, six assists and two blocked shots, and Taylah Wynne nine points.
Geelong United will be back in action on Saturday June 15 hosting the Melbourne Tigers while Eltham will be away that same evening to the Casey Cavaliers.

The Eltham Wildcats responded to a Saturday night loss with a commanding performance to beat Geelong United 92-70 at home on Sunday with Angus Glover and Owen Foxwell combining for 42 points and seven threes.
Eltham came into the contest on their home floor at Montmorency Secondary College looking to hit back from a loss on the road to the Diamond Valley Eagles on Saturday.
Geelong arrived having scored a stirring road win over the Mount Gambier Pioneers on Friday night to stay in the playoff hunt but it was Eltham who started the better with a 19-11 lead already by quarter-time.
The Wildcats were able to extend that lead out to 15 points in the second quarter before then going into the half-time break on top 42-33.
Eltham then blew the game wide apart in the third quarter with 36 points to 15 to see that lead grow to as much as 30 points, and from there the Wildcats opened up a 33-point lead in the final period.
Geelong did fight the game out to even score 14 consecutive points at one stage but Eltham were never threatened and went on to score the 22-point home victory.
The win improves the Wildcats to a 7-7 record on the season to remain in the playoff hunt with Angus Glover delivering 22 points, six rebounds and three assists while knocking down 4/8 from three-point range.
His new South East Melbourne Phoenix NBL teammate Owen Foxwell also had 20 points, five steals and four assists, Ralph Bissainthe 17 points, two boards and two steals, and Zak Cunningham 11 points, 13 rebounds and two assists.
Geelong slip to 5-9 with the loss to fall further from the playoff race despite a big afternoon from George Blagojevic with 24 points, 16 rebounds, five assists and two steals.
Marach Marach also had 11 points on 5/8 shooting for United, Liam Herbert 10 points, and Ma'alo Hicks six points, four rebounds and four assists.
Geelong United will be back in action on Saturday June 15 hosting the Melbourne Tigers while Eltham will be away that same evening to the Casey Cavaliers.
