Steph Reid was unstoppable for the Frankston Blues in the NBL1 South on Friday night while the Hobart Chargers men proved too strong at home to close the evening to open the Round 5 weekend.
Here was just the one venue in action on Friday night and it saw the Frankston Blues women beat the Hobart Chargers 72-56 before the Hobart men prevailed 88-80 in a seesawing contest.

Steph Reid was so incredible for the Frankston Blues that she came close to outscoring the Hobart Chargers herself in Friday night's eventual 72-56 victory.
The Blues opened their road double in Tasmania with the 16-point win at South East Stadium with Reid producing a phenomenal performance with the Townsville Fire WNBL star putting up 42 points in an unstoppable outing.
After Hobart managed to have an early three-point lead, Frankston took charge with Reid leading the charge and the Blues scored 15 consecutive points and by quarter-time were leading 26-9.
Frankston kept the run going to start the second term too and would lead by as much as 21, but Hobart worked back into the contest with eight consecutive points to cut the Blues lead to 38-25 at half-time.
The Chargers could never quite get close enough to threaten throughout the second half with the Blues going on to score the 16-point win to improve to 2-5 on the season and snap a four-game losing run.
Steph Reid finished with a dazzling 42 points, four rebounds, four steals and three assists for Frankston on 16/24 shooting from the floor, 5/9 from downtown and 5/8 at the free-throw line.
WNBL championship winner Lou Brown added eight points, 15 rebounds and three blocks, Jacqui Trotto seven points and seven boards, and Courtney Wilkins seven points and two rebounds.
Hobart slips to 3-5 with a third consecutive loss despite 21 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals from Kayla Steindl.
Cierra Walker added 17 points, two rebounds and two assists, and Jayda Jansen nine points, three boards, three assists and two steals.
Frankston will stay in Tasmania to play the Launceston Tornadoes on Saturday while Hobart waits to host the Melbourne Tigers next Friday night.

The Hobart Chargers received a huge performance from Terrell Brown and on the back of that were able to knock off the Frankston Blues 88-80 at home on Friday night.
The Chargers were looking to hit back from last Saturday's home loss to the Ballarat Miners while the Blues were starting their road double in Tasmania at South East Stadium still without Brad Newley.
Frankston managed to open up a six-point lead in the first quarter and were still up 22-18 by the end of one but Hobart worked on top in the second term and would push out to a 10-point advantage of their own.
The Chargers were on top 38-33 by half-time but it was the turn of the Blues to take charge once more with 13 consecutive points in the third quarter to turn that deficit into a seven-point lead of their own.
The momentum swings continued and once Hobart took back over in the fourth quarter, it was for good and the home team were back out to a 10-point lead before going on to win by eight.
The victory improves the Chargers to a 5-3 record on the season with Terrell Brown outstanding with 29 points, three rebounds and two steals on 11/25 shooting from the floor and 5/6 from the free-throw line.
Jacob Richards added 13 points, five rebounds and five assists for Hobart, Clint Steindl 12 points and 11 boards, Vionte Daniels 12 points, five assists and three rebounds, and Joe Chilcott 11 points, five boards and three assists.
Frankston is now 4-3 following the loss with Lachlan Barker putting up 20 points, five assists and three rebounds, and Stokley Chaffee 20 points, eight boards, two assists and two steals.
Daniel Trist also contributed 19 points, seven rebounds and five assists, and Lucas Barker nine points, four boards and four assists.
Frankston will stay in Tasmania to play the North West Tasmania Thunder on Saturday while Hobart waits to host the Melbourne Tigers next Friday night.
