Kayla and Clint Steindl combined for 50 points in NBL1 South wins for the Hobart Chargers while Lauren Scherf had 35 for the Frankston Blues, Akech Aliir 28 and 15 for the Mount Gambier Pioneers and Angus Glover inspired the Eltham Wildcats.
Saturday's women's results saw the Eltham Wildcats beat the Bendigo Braves 86-73, the Ballarat Miners defeated the Melbourne Tigers 76-51, the Frankston Blues downed the Casey Cavaliers 85-83, and the Nunawading Spectres won 84-66 against the Mount Gambier Pioneers.
The Hobart Chargers also defeated Diamond Valley Eagles 76-64 while the Dandenong Rangers beat the Keilor Thunder 83-56, the Kilsyth Cobras downed the Launceston Tornadoes 76-68.
Then in the men's fixtures, the Wildcats beat the Braves 83-80, the Miners defeated the Tigers 87-81, the Blues downed the Cavaliers 100-74, the Pioneers won 97-80 against the Spectres, the Chargers beat the Eagles 99-76, the Rangers beat Keilor 75-72, and Kilsyth defeated North West Tasmania 81-77.

WOMEN
Bendigo Braves (73) lost to Eltham Wildcats (86)
The Eltham Wildcats consolidated their playoff position with Lily Scanlon and Hailey Leidel again combining for 45 points in the 86-73 road win against the Bendigo Braves.
Both teams were fresh off playing on Friday night with Bendigo winning on the road to the Melbourne Tigers while Eltham also won away from home to the Sandringham Sabres.
That set up a fascinating match up at Red Energy Arena with the Braves trying to stay in the top four race and the Wildcats needing to keep winning to stay in the top eight.
Bendigo did regain Ally Wilson for that Friday night win over the Tigers, but she wasn’t able to play on Saturday and the Wildcats dominated the opening with 18 points to nine in the first quarter.
That lead grew to as much as 18 points in favour of Eltham in the second quarter as well before they went into half-time still on top 42-28.
The Wildcats remained in control throughout the second half to end up leading the reigning champions by as much as 24 points before settling on the 13-point victory.
The win is a fourth in-a-row for Eltham as they improve to 11-7 on the season to remain in a playoff position with Lily Scanlon finishing with 24 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two steals.
Hailey Leidel also had 21 points, seven boards, five assists and three steals on 4/8 three-point shooting with Bec Pizzey adding 13 points and eight rebounds, and Taylah Wynne six points, four assists and two boards.
Bendigo is just clinging to their spot in the top eight at 11-8 with Cassidy McLean doing what she could to keep the Braves in it with 27 points, three rebounds and three steals.
Kelly Wilson had another 15 points, 10 assists, five rebounds and three steals with Lavinia Cox contributing 14 points, six boards and two steals, and Caitlin Richardson six points and four rebounds.
Bendigo will next be in action on Friday night away to the Hobart Chargers while the Wildcats play host to the Waverley Falcons on Thursday.

Ballarat Miners (76) defeated Melbourne Tigers (51)
The Ballarat Miners made it five wins in-a-row to continue their charge towards the NBL1 South playoffs with the dominant 76-51 win at home over the Melbourne Tigers.
The Miners were back home at The Minerdome Stadium on a four-game winning streak but still sitting in ninth position while the Tigers arrived in opposite form having lost their past four including on Friday night at home to the Bendigo Braves.
It didn’t take long for Ballarat to take control of the contest either with 26 points to nine in the opening quarter.
The Miners maintained control the rest of the evening from there with the lead getting out to 28 points in the second quarter and 35 throughout the second half with the final margin settling at 25 points.
Ballarat has now won five straight to improve to a 10-8 record on the season to be closing in further on a playoff spot with Alex Bunton top-scoring with 22 points, eight rebounds and three assists on 11/16 shooting.
Mehryn Kraker added 16 points, seven rebounds and three steals with Chloe Bibby contributing nine points, six boards, five assists and two steals, Jaz Shelley nine points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals, and Abbey Wehrung nine points, eight boards, three assists and two steals.
The Tigers have now lost five in-a-row to now be struggling at a 7-12 record with Steph Blicavs playing almost 20 minutes off the bench and finishing with 11 points and three rebounds.
Cierra Dillard also had eight points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals, and Sam Simons eight points, six boards and two assists.
The Miners have the short turnaround to hitting the road on Sunday against the Frankston Blues while the Tigers are on the road to the Mount Gambier Pioneers next Saturday.

Casey Cavaliers (83) lost to Frankston Blues (85)
Lauren Scherf returned and had a big double-double with 35 points and 10 rebounds with the Frankston Blues ending up winning in a dramatic finish 85-83 over the Casey Cavaliers.
The Cavaliers were back home at Casey Stadium looking to snap a four-game losing streak hosting a Frankston team trying to break into the top eight and welcoming back Lauren Scherf even while still missing Steph Reid.
Frankston did manage to open up a 10-point lead in the first quarter but Casey fired back in the second period and that meant that by half-time it was the Blues just clinging to a 45-44 advantage.
The Blues were still leading for much of the second half but the last few minutes were big shot after big shot, and dramatic moment after dramatic moment.
With just over four minutes remaining, Tori Jackson landed a three-pointer for the Blues to put her team back in front by two before Alex Wittinger responded in kind for the Cavaliers to put them back up by a point.
Jackson answered with another three for Frankston, Lauryn Hippolite did the same for the Cavs and it was the home team leading again by a point with 2:45 on the clock.
Then with 1:30 to go and Emily Monaghan had her moment with the biggest shot of the night to connect from downtown to restore Frankston to the lead by three, and they were still up one even after Taylah Simmons scored inside for the Cavaliers.
It was still a one-point game when the Cavs did force a turnover but Simmons' pull up jumper was short and Frankston secured possession and called for a timeout with 5.8 seconds to go.
Out of that, the Cavaliers didn’t have the option to foul and send Frankston to the line because they had zero team fouls up to that point.
They did try to foul instantly when the ball came in and did it three times, but on the fourth there was a foul called before the ball came in and that gave the Blues a technical.
Lou Brown knocked it down to stretch the lead to two and then the time ran out when the ball was next inbounded, and the game was done.
The win improves the Blues to a 9-8 record to keep their playoff hopes alive with Lauren Scherf starring with 35 points, 10 rebounds and four assists on 14/24 shooting.
Chelsea D'Angelo added 20 points, eight assists, three rebounds and three steals, Lou Brown 18 points, 15 boards and five assists, and Tori Jackson six points and three rebounds.
Casey is now 4-15 with a fifth straight defeat with Alex Wittinger finishing with 22 points, 13 rebounds, three blocked shots and two steals.
Taylah Simmons also had 22 points, nine rebounds and five assists with Lauryn Hippolite contributing 14 points, four assists and two boards, and Taylah Gillam 12 points, two rebounds and two assists.
Frankston will be back home to the Ballarat Miners on Sunday with the Cavaliers hosting the Diamond Valley Eagles next Saturday.

Nunawading Spectres (84) defeated Mount Gambier Pioneers (66)
The Nunawading Spectres produced one of the upsets of the NBL1 South season beating the fourth placed Mount Gambier Pioneers 84-66.
The Spectres came into the match up at Nunawading Basketball Centre in bottom place with a nine-game losing streak as they hosted a Pioneers team needing to keep winning to stay in the top four and who were on their own three-match winning run.
Mount Gambier would go on to have a horror shooting night away from home and Nunawading took full advantage starting with 22 points to nine in the opening quarter.
Nunawading would remain in control of the contest the rest of the way too with the lead continuing to grow and getting out to as much as 17 points in the second frame, 20 in the third and 27 in the fourth.
The Pioneers attempted to mount a fightback, but the deficit was too much and the Spectres went on to score the 18-point victory to avoid a 10th straight loss and improve to 3-15 on the season.
Rachel Brewster top-scored for Nunawading with 18 points, three rebounds and three assists with Batabe Zempare contributing 17 points, 10 boards, three steals and two assists, and Rachel Antoniadou 16 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
Mount Gambier finished the night shooting just 34.3 per cent from the field as a team and 2/30 from three-point territory including Sherrie Calleia going 1/12 despite finishing with 22 points, nine rebound and seven assists.
Isa Brancatisano also had 14 points, five rebounds and four assists for the Pioneers, Haliegh Reinoehl 10 points and eight boards, and Samantha Fatkin eight points and five rebounds.
The Pioneers back up again on the road on Sunday against the Dandenong Rangers while the Spectres will play host to the Knox Raiders.

Hobart Chargers (76) defeated Diamond Valley Eagles (64)
The Hobart Chargers shook off a slow start to dominate the Diamond Valley Eagles in the second half with another 23 points from Kayla Steindl in the eventual 76-64 victory.
Hobart started its weekend with the 12-point win against the Kilsyth Cobras while Diamond Valley also won a two-point thriller against the Launceston Tornadoes.
That set up their meeting nicely at South East Stadium and it was the visiting Eagles who got the better of the start with a 10-0 run allowing them to the 16-8 lead by quarter-time.
Diamond Valley was able to maintain that advantage in the second quarter too to go into half-time on top 35-25.
That left plenty of work to do for Hobart to make it a double win weekend and they were up to the challenge.
The Chargers went on their 15-0 scoring run in the third quarter and ended up outscoring the Eagles 26 points to 14 on the way to be leading by two points at three quarter-time.
It was then another 25 points to 15 in the final term for Hobart to see them secure the 12-point victory and improve to a 7-12 record on the season in the process.
Kayla Steindl once again top-scored for Hobart in the win with 23 points and eight rebounds with Jayda Jansen contributing 18 points, seven assists and three boards.
Cierra Walker also had 15 points, five assists and four rebounds, Chloe Broomhall 11 points, 11 boards and three steals, and Zoe Richards nine points, five rebounds and two assists.
Diamond Valley slips to 6-12 with the defeat to split its weekend in Tasmania despite Naomi Mbandu putting up 21 points, 10 rebounds and two assists.
Jennie Rintala also finished with 15 points and six rebounds, and Abbey Ellis 12 points, 11 boards, four steals and three assists.
The Chargers will play host to the Bendigo Braves now on Friday night with Diamond Valley away still also on Friday to the Keilor Thunder.

The Dandenong Rangers dominated the league-leading Keilor Thunder for the 83-56 victory on the road to keep their top four NBL1 South prospects alive.
The Rangers arrived at Keilor Stadium a game behind the fourth placed Mount Gambier Pioneers and all they can do is keep on winning and hope that a spot in that top four opens up.
They were taking on a Thunder team sitting clear on top of the table on a 10-game winning streak but they came into the match up without Maddy Rocci and they had no answers for the Rangers all evening.
It was a stunning start to the game from Dandenong to already open up a 15-point lead by qurater-time but Keilor did close that gap and cut the Rangers advantage to 40-31 by the half-time break.
It was then that Dandenong took further charge of the contest throughout the second half with 23 points to 14 in the third period and 20 to 11 in the fourth on the way to the eventual 27-point victory.
The win improves the Rangers to a 12-6 record on the season with WNBA draftee Nyadiew Puoch producing 19 points, 10 rebounds and four steals.
Ashten Prechtel added 18 points, 10 rebounds and five blocked shots, Amber Smith 17 points, seven assists and six boards, Dallas Loughridge 10 points and six assists, and Manuela Puoch nine points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals.
It's a second loss of the season for the Thunder and first since going down to the Mount Gambier Pioneers back on April 26 as they now sit on a 16-2 record.
Tera Reed ended up with 14 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals for Keilor with Issie Bourne contributing 12 points and four rebounds, Grace Graham nine points and two boards, and Lily Carmody eight points and two rebounds.
The Rangers are back home on Sunday against the Mount Gambier Pioneers with Keilor to host the Diamond Valley Eagles on Friday night.

Launceston Tornadoes (68) lost to Kilsyth Cobras (76)
It was the battle of two teams desperate for a win and it was the visiting Kilsyth Cobras that got their wish with the 76-68 victory against the Launceston Tornadoes.
Both teams were looking for a morale boosting late season victory and were also backing up after losing on Friday night with the Tornadoes going down to the Diamond Valley Eagles and the Cobras to the Hobart Chargers.
They backed up at Elphin Sports Stadium and the home team began strongly with 27 points to 19 in the opening quarter.
Kilsyth was able to turn the tide in the second quarter with 27 points to 14 and then it was the Cobras who pulled away in the second half to lead by as many as 14 points and to eventually hold on for the eight-point victory.
The win improves Kilsyth to a 4-14 record on the season with Nikita Young the star of the victory with 26 points, five rebounds, four steals, three assists and two blocked shots.
Tyra Whitehead also had 21 points and 14 rebounds, Caitlin Cunningham 13 points and five boards, and Paige Price 10 points and five rebounds.
Launceston has now lost eight straight to be 4-15 following the defeat despite getting another 24 points, nine rebounds and two assists from Lore Devos.
Macey Crawford contributed 10 points, four assists and three rebounds, and Trinity Oliver nine points, six boards, four assists and four steals.
The Tornadoes will next be in action at home to the Bendigo Braves next Saturday with Kilsyth back in action on Thursday away to the Frankston Blues.

Bendigo Braves (80) lost to Eltham Wildcats (83)
The Eltham Wildcats had to dig deep but with Angus Glover leading the charge, they came from behind to beat the Bendigo Braves 83-80 to enhance their playoff prospects.
Eltham opened the weekend with a thrilling five-point win against the Sandringham Sabres ahead of arriving on Saturday at Red Energy Arena to take on a Braves team fresh off also beating the Melbourne Tigers.
On the back of that win the previous night, the Braves kept the momentum rolling with a 13-0 run in the first quarter to end up opening up a 14-point lead by quarter-time.
That advantage got out to 15 points in the second period and the home team was still leading 41-30 by the half-time break.
Bendigo were still leading by eight points heading into the fourth quarter but quick three-pointers to Sam Short and Angus Glover cut that deficit back to two.
Ralph Bissainthe also hit from downtown to bring Eltham within a point and eventually with 3:30 to play it was another three ball from Short that put the Wildcats in front.
Dylan McCauley immediately responded with a three of his own for Bendigo only for Glover to answer in kind for the Wildcats.
Glover soon hit another from downtown to give his team the three-point lead that would prove enough to secure the eventual three-point win that sees the Wildcats improve to a 10-8 record on the season.
Angus Glover finished with 23 points, seven rebounds and three assists with 6/13 three-point shooting in the win for Eltham with Owen Foxwell adding 19 points, four boards, four assists and three steals.
Ralph Bissainthe also had 13 points and seven rebounds, Josh Sykes 11 points and five boards, and Sam Short 10 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
Bendigo is now 7-12 following the loss with Andrew Robinson finishing with 22 points and four rebounds on hitting 6/14 from three-point range.
Rowan Mackenzie added 18 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals, Billy Smythe 15 points and seven boards, and Mitch Clarke seven points and eight assists.
Bendigo will next be in action on Friday night away to the Hobart Chargers while the Wildcats play host to the Waverley Falcons on Thursday.

Ballarat Miners (87) defeated Melbourne Tigers (81)
Majok Majok was a dominant presence and the Ballarat Miners produced a dominant finish to overrun the Melbourne Tigers for the 87-81 home victory.
Ballarat were back home at The Minerdome Stadium attempting to break back into the top two while the Tigers were on the road and just attempting to stop a four-game losing slide including on Friday night losing at home to the Bendigo Braves.
The Tigers made a strong start to be leading by as much as 12 points in the first quarter and to still be on top 29-21 by quarter-time.
Ballarat were able to turn things around with 22 points to 14 themselves in the second but the twists continued with Melbourne then answering with 26 points to 21 in the third term as the visitors again led by as much as seven.
The Miners were able to produce a dominant final stanza with 23 points to 12 to come from five points down at three quarter-time to score the six-point victory.
The win improves Ballarat to a 13-5 record now on the season with Majok Majok proving a powerful force with 20 points and 20 rebounds with 7/11 shooting from the field and 6/8 from the free-throw line.
Nick Stoddart also produced another 19 points, four rebounds and three assists with Tyler Rudolph contributing 14 points, five boards and two assists, Luke Rosendale 13 points, three rebounds and three assists, and Zac Dunmore 10 points, three boards and three assists.
The Tigers have lost five straight to be sitting at 7-12 despite Tom Wilson putting in another impressive showing with 24 points, five rebounds and four assists.
Jack Purchase also had 20 points and six assists, Mason Gaze 16 points and three assists, and Taj Chehhal nine points and four assists.
The Miners have the short turnaround to hitting the road on Sunday against the Frankston Blues while the Tigers are on the road to the Mount Gambier Pioneers next Saturday.

The Frankston Blues made it three straight wins to consolidate their hold on a playoff position to score the 100-74 road win over the Casey Cavaliers.
The Blues arrived at Casey Stadium sitting in seventh position having won their past two matches as they took on a Cavaliers team that might be in last place, but is capable of an upset and showed that against Waverley last week.
Frankston put together a 9-0 run in the first quarter on the way to opening a double-figure advantage and then leading 26-18 by quarter-time.
The Blues dominated the rest of the evening against the Cavs too with the lead ending up getting to 19 points in the second quarter and 30 throughout the second half before they settled on the eventual 26-point victory.
The win is a third straight for Frankston to improve them to a 10-7 record on the season with Daniel Trist delivering 20 points, 12 rebounds and five assists.
Stokley Chaffee added 19 points, seven rebounds and two steals, Lucas Barker 18 points and five boards on 4/6 three-point shooting, Igor Hadziomerovic 17 points and five assists, and Lachlan Barker 16 points and three assists.
Casey remains in bottom spot with a 3-16 record with Dillon Stith battling hard for 25 points and four rebounds on 5/8 three-point shooting.
Preston Bungei added 10 points and three steals, Hunter Marks nine points and four rebounds, Anthony Karabatsos nine points, two boards and two assists, and Adam Thoseby eight points and three assists.
Frankston will be back home to the Ballarat Miners on Sunday with the Cavaliers hosting the Diamond Valley Eagles next Saturday.

Nunawading Spectres (80) lost to Mount Gambier Pioneers (97)
Akech Aliir produced a dominant performance with 28 points and 15 rebounds as the Mount Gambier Pioneers retained top spot with the 97-80 road victory against the Nunawading Spectres.
The Pioneers arrived at Nunawading Basketball Centre on a four-game winning streak and in top spot of the NBL1 South with the Spectres looking for a bounce back victory to enhance their own playoff prospects.
Nunawading started impressively too with 28 points to 23 in the first quarter and to still hold a seven-point lead in the second term, but then Mount Gambier began to take control.
The Pioneers ended up outscoring the Spectres 27 points to 14 in the second period to go into the half-time break leading 50-42.
That lead for Mount Gambier grew to 16 points in the third quarter and 19 in the fourth before they secured the 17-point victory to retain top spot with five straight wins and a 14-4 record.
Akech Aliir produced a standout performance in the win for the Pioneers with 28 points, 15 rebounds and two blocked shots while going 13/14 at the free-throw line.
Christian Peevy added 21 points, five rebounds and two blocks, Dylan Marshall 18 points, five boards and three assists, Titus Robinson 16 points, three rebounds, three blocks and two steals, and Austin Shelley seven points and four assists.
Nunawading remains outside the top eight with the loss sitting on a 9-9 record with Jalen Johnson finishing with 19 points, six rebounds and two blocked shots.
Trendon Hankerson added 15 points, six boards and two assists, Kingsley Box 12 points, four rebounds and three assists, and Jordan Geer 11 points and two boards.
The Pioneers back up again on the road on Sunday against the Dandenong Rangers while the Spectres will play host to the Knox Raiders.

Hobart Chargers (99) defeated Diamond Valley Eagles (76)
Clint Steindl knocked down seven three-pointers in his second game back to lead the Hobart Chargers to the 99-76 home victory against the Diamond Valley Eagles.
Both teams had played on Friday night with the Chargers beating the Kilsyth Cobras also at home while the Eagles started their road double losing to the North West Tasmania Thunder.
They backed it up on Saturday at South East Stadium and the Chargers didn’t take long to work on top with 23 points to 14 in the opening quarter.
Hobart continued to build on that advantage throughout the evening with the lead growing to 18 points in the second quarter, 24 in the third and 27 in the fourth before the final winning margin of 23.
The win improves the Chargers to an 11-8 record on the season to enhance their playoff prospects with Tasmania JackJumpers NBL championship winning captain Clint Steindl marking his second game back with 27 points, five rebounds and three assists.
He shot 7/11 from three-point range in just 20 and-a-half minutes of court time.
Terrell Brown added 19 points on 8/14 shooting for Hobart with Jacob Richards contributing 16 points, nine rebounds, three assists and two blocks, and Vionte Daniels eight points, seven assists and four boards.
Diamond Valley has now lost both games this weekend to slip to 5-13 on the season with BJ Symons top-scoring with 19 points and four rebounds with Jock Perry adding 18 points, 16 rebounds and three assists, Ryan Bowkett 12 points and three assists, and Ngor Manyang 11 points.
The Chargers will play host to the Bendigo Braves now on Friday night with Diamond Valley away still also on Friday to the Keilor Thunder.

There was plenty on the line with two teams fighting over a top four position and it was the Dandenong Rangers holding out Keilor Thunder for the 75-72 victory.
The two teams arrived at Keilor Stadium on identical 11-6 records so the winner was going to sit clear in fourth position and the loser back into the fight just to be holding onto a position in the top eight.
That's how tight things are getting towards the end of the regular season in the NBL1 South and it was the home team who had the better of the start.
Keilor raced to a 14-point lead by quarter-time but Dandenong was able to turn the tide in the second period with 27 points to 14 themselves and that cut the Thunder lead to 40-39 by half-time.
The Rangers went on a 10-0 scoring run in the third period and that saw the visitors build a lead as big as 14 points, and that would be enough to secure the win but only just with Keilor continuing to push right to the final buzzer.
The win means that Dandenong remains in the top four with a 12-6 record with Tad Dufelmeier stepping up with 21 points, four rebounds and four assists.
Mason Peatling finished with 15 points and 16 rebounds with Jacob Tryon contributing 13 points and nine boards, Brandon Betson 11 points and four assists, and Puoch Puoch seven points and 12 rebounds.
The loss sees Keilor slip to an 11-7 record with Trevor Lakes top-scoring with 15 points, seven rebounds and three assists on 4/10 shooting from three-point land.
Daniel Poelsma also had 14 points, five rebounds and two assists with Kyle Zunic contributing 11 points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals, and Deng Acouth eight points and 11 boards.
The Rangers are back home on Sunday against the Mount Gambier Pioneers with Keilor to host the Diamond Valley Eagles on Friday night.

North West Tasmania Thunder (77) lost to Kilsyth Cobras (81)
The Kilsyth Cobras delivered a significant blow to the playoff aspirations of the North West Tasmania Thunder with the 81-77 road victory on Saturday night in overtime.
Both teams were playing their second games on the weekend with the Thunder beating the Diamond Valley Eagles also at home on Friday with Kilsyth starting their road double with a loss to the Hobart Chargers.
The two teams locked horns at Elphin Sports Stadium and precious little separated them all evening with Kilsyth leading by just three points at quarter-time before that was back to just a one-point advantage by half-time.
North West Tasmania managed to work on top in the third quarter and were out to a seven-point lead, but Kilsyth responded and had their own seven-point lead in the fourth quarter on the back of a triple from Corey Jeffs and then put back from Tim Lang.
That was with four minutes to play and North West Tasmania responded with a triple from Tre Armstrong and then a floater from Seth Swalve.
He then scored again to tie scores up with two minutes to play and ultimately that's where scores would stay with Armstrong unable to hit the winner at the buzzer after a Sekou Sylla steal on Mitch Dielemans.
That meant the game was going to overtime and in the end it was four free-throws from Dielemans that sealed the four-point victory for the Cobras that sees them improve to 5-13 on the season.
Mitch Dielemans finished with 22 points, five rebounds and four assists for Kilsyth with 4/7 shooting from three-point territory with Tim Lang contributing 19 points, seven boards and three blocks, and Adrian Tomada 18 points, six rebounds and two assists.
The Thunder slip to 8-11 as a result of the home defeat with Sekou Sylla finishing with 23 points and 12 rebounds while Seth Swalve contributed 13 points, 10 assists and three boards.
Tre Armstrong added 13 points and two assists, Jake Afoa 10 points and five rebounds, and Archer Woodhill six points and 14 boards.
The Thunder will next be in action at home to the Bendigo Braves next Saturday with Kilsyth back in action on Thursday away to the Frankston Blues.
