The Redbacks were right up against it even prior to tip-off with the absence of their two guns, Anneli Maley and Natalie Chou, and it didn’t take long for the defending champions to take full advantage.
Cockburn themselves were without front court pair Jessie Edwards and Maria Blazejewski, but it mattered little as they caught fire in the opening quarter.
Making up for missing their first 28 three-pointers last Saturday night, Steph Gorman on her own made four triples in the first quarter as the Cougars raced to a 35-15 lead already by the end of one.

Warwick were able to start the game well but by quarter-time Joondalup had worked on top to lead 26-24 and then turned on the afterburners in the second period.
The Wolves piled on 42 points to 21 in the second term and that saw the home team go into the break leading 68-45.
