The Perth Redbacks have made two major moves to bolster their women’s and men’s teams.
Former McDonald's All-American Natalie Chou spent last season with the NBL1 West’s Eastern Suns, where she averaged 20.1 points, 5.9 rebounds and 4.3 assists for the Finals team.

She will now join the Redbacks for the 2024 season, with head coach Tim Rendulic saying he cannot wait to add a star from last season to the team.
“Nat was, without question, one of the stand-out players to take the court in NBL1 West during 2023,” he said.
“Her skill set is so refined that it allows her to score at all 3 levels. Whether it’s facing up defenders, working off the block, finishing downhill, hitting open shots from the perimeter or midrange - she is the full offensive package.”
“I cannot wait to reconnect with Nat once again and we all eagerly look forward to her joining us at the completion of her commitments in Sweden.”
On the men’s side, another Sun will make the move to the Redbacks with Joe Cook-Green signing on for 2024. The NBL1 West All-Star Five member scored a league-record 54 points against the Cockburn Cougars last season.
Head Coach Charles Nix said that Cook-Green will be a transformative presence for his squad.
“Those that have been around the league the last couple of years know how big this is for us. I don’t know many guys that can play at the level Joe does, night in and night out," coach Nix said.
“He’s a quality player, who arguably brings even more quality as a person off the court. What I really like the most is that his values align with ours and his desire to be successful and bring everyone along with him will help us to continue to build our program to one of the best in the NBL1 competition."
