NBL1 West Select Team member Tevin Jackson is headed to the Rockingham Flames for the 2025 season.
Last season the talented guard averaged 16.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists as the team's third-leading scorer.
The Redbacks had a frustrating season by their standards. After making the finals last season, they fell short in multiple games during the regular season against Finals teams – finishing with a 5-17 record.
National Championship coach Ryan Petrik explained after coaching Jackson in the Select games, he saw just how perfectly he’d fit on the Flames.
“Tevin was someone we always admired from afar, but getting to coach him against the Perth Wildcats last year really opened my eyes to what he could do inside our style of play,” he said.
“He’s a 6’8” guy who can legitimately play one-through-four [and] guard one-through-four. [He] will be one of our best defenders from day one. But the best part for us is he’s a great bloke who wants to be coached, he will fit in with our culture down here, we can’t wait to start working with him again."
Jackson added that this move feels like the natural next step in his career.
“I’m extremely excited to be joining the Rockingham Flames! After being coached by Ryan a handful of times for the NBL1 West Select games last year, I was very impressed with how he prepared the team,” he said.
“It’s something I can’t wait to be a part of. The move to the Flames feels like the right step in my career at this point and I’m looking forward to taking the court with the guys that have given me so much grief as an opponent throughout the years! Flame On!”
