The NBL1 West's Rockingham Flames have made two major signings back-to-back to refuel the championship defence.
Starting with the 2024 NBL1 West First Team member, Alex Ciabattoni has signed with the championship-winning Rockingham Flames for the 2025 season.
The Perth Lynx veteran made a major impact on the Cockburn Cougars last season, averaging 19.7 points, 5.9 rebounds and 5.5 assists for the Grand Finalists.
In the Grand Final against the Flames, Ciabattoni had a game-high 30 points – giving the Cougars a real chance at back-to-back titles.
While she will lead the charge on the court, off the court she’ll take on a new role as a Senior Development Officer for the Flames, working under High Performance Manager and men’s head coach Ryan Petrik.
“It is great to be back home and I’m very excited to be back working with juniors again,” she said.
“I’m looking forward to helping the Flames achieve success with our senior and junior programs.”
She joins last season’s leading scorer Georgia Pineau, who had an outstanding first season in Western Australia after two successful campaigns with the Sandringham Sabres in the NBL1 South.
Last season she averaged 17.9 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.6 steals for the championship-winning team.
During the National Finals, Pineau made a similar impact – averaging 10.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and four assists against the Waverley Falcons and Bendigo Braves.
"I’m so excited to be back for another year with Rockingham for NBL1 25," Pineau said.
"After such a fun and successful season last year, I can’t wait to get back on the court and continue the journey with this incredible team and community."
