Seahawk junior Katie Deeble is coming home to the Nest for the Coles Express NBL1 North 2022 season.
Deeble, who is currently a development player for the Sydney Uni Flames and previously attended the Centre of Excellence in Canberra, will make the Seahawks her last stop prior to heading off to America, and attending Wake Forest on a full scholarship.
Coming off a phenomenal U19 World Championship, where she led her team to a silver medal, Deeble averaged 9.3 points, four rebounds and 2.3 assists over the tournament.
Deeble will utilise the NBL1 season under head coach Brad Kann as preparation for her jump to the States.
Kann was ecstatic with Deeble wanting to come home for the Seahawks inaugural season into the NBL1 North competition.
"Getting Katie was our main focus for our recruitment drive, and we are pumped to get her home" Kann said.
"Katie is an international level point guard, with her ability to score at all three levels, she’s fast, she’s dynamic and we know she will be a lot to handle for opposition defences.
"We can’t wait to get her here."
Deeble is equally as excited as her head coach.
"I can't wait to get home and play for the Seahawks in the NBL1 North competition," she said.
"The team that Brad (Kann) is putting together was an extreme attraction, along with being able to spend time with Mum and Dad before heading to the States.
"I’m really excited to get back to where it all began for me and play in front of family and friends again."
