The WNBA’s LA Sparks have drafted NBL1 North star Shaneice Swain with the 14th pick in the 2023 draft.
In Round 1 of the NBL1 North with the Cairns Dolphins, she scored 27 points, four rebounds and two assists in a win over the reigning conference champions.
Last NBL1 season with the Mackay Meteorettes, Swain averaged 16.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.4 assists.

Swain played for the UC Capitals in the WNBL this past season and caught the attention of WNBA scouts in Portland, Oregon, on Saturday at the Nike Hoops Summit.
Playing for Team World, she was the leading scorer of 19 points, four rebounds and two assists in her 21-minute stint.
The WNBA season will start on May 19th.
