Two-time WNBA champion and Australian sporting star, Erin Phillips will join NBL1 Central’s Woodville Warriors in 2025.
The first of many significant signings for the next NBL1 season, Phillips is a huge acquisition for the Warriors off-and-on court success.
Phillips will dedicate her expertise and leadership to the younger grass-roots players, as she will also take on a mentor role within the Warriors’ Junior Pathway Program.
“I am excited to be welcomed into the Warriors family. Woodville has a clear priority of development and culture especially in the female pathways,” Phillips told Warriors Media.
“It’s a huge signing to have Coach Vicki Daldy and I’m looking forward to be back on court playing alongside and mentoring some great young talent.“
Woodville President, Steven Walker heaped praise to the sporting star joining their growing organisation through the junior program, and expects Phillips will bring nothing but positivity.
"Erins leadership, and passion for not just the game but for helping young people grow and develop both on and off the court will be nothing but positive for our junior basketball program, as we continue to cement a strong foundation for our juniors to thrive not just in basketball but life itself,” Walker said.
While the NBL1 Central season may be over, the Central Districts Lions are still fighting in the National Finals. After their first National Finals win in history last night over the Spartans, they'll take on the Bendigo Braves from 3:30pm AEST live and free via Kayo Freebies.
