The Sutherland Sharks have signed Geoff Gerlach, Brandon Bates, Lauren Calver, Emily Garland and Brendan Winstanley ahead of the 2022 Coles Express NBL1 East season.
Shire local and young gun Garland is ready to fire for the Sutherland Sharks NBL1 team this season.
Having played all her basketball at Sutherland, the local junior will once again be donning the blue and black in 2022.
"Emily is crafty and skillful at the offensive end," Women's Head Coach, Shelley Bates said.
"She has great shooting range but has a solid repertoire of moves when she puts the ball on the floor.
"She’s smart and has a great feel for the game, which is unusual in young players.
"This season will be a great opportunity for her to learn and grow from the experienced girls but also find ways to show what can do in the league."
Speaking about Winstanley's commitment, Men's Head Coach Adrian Dark said: "Having Brendan re-commit for 2022 is a huge plus for our club and our team.
"His overall game and the way he shoots the basketball really complements the way we like to play.
"I’m excited to see what 2022 holds for Brendan - I believe he can take his game to another level."

Calver is returning to the Shark Tank in 2022 for the Sutherland Sharks NBL1 Women’s team.
On the back of a strong 2021 season where she averaged eleven points at 55 percent from the field, five rebounds and two assists per game, Calver returns to Sutherland keen to continue to improve.
"Lauren is a versatile athlete who contributes in many ways on court," coach Bates said.
"At 6'1", she’s mobile and gives us a different look on offence and length on defence.
"I’m excited to see what she can bring this year.
"After a stellar career at Houston Baptist University, Calver had settled in as a strong contributor in the Waratah Competition and is ready for a big season in 2022."
Speaking about Gerlach's signing, coach Dark said: "We are thrilled to have Geoff for another season.
"He is such a tremendous person both on and off the court and he brings so much to this group.
"I feel Geoff is ready for another big year and I can’t wait to see him play."
