The Lakeside Lightning’s Teige Morrell has been named the 2024 NBL1 West MVP.
The American big now joins the likes of two-time winner Alex Sharp and Stacey Barr as conference MVPs.
Averaging 23 points, 14 rebounds and 2.9 assists for the Lightning, she’s been the leading cause in the club's triumphant return to finals – sitting seventh on the ladder heading into the first round of Finals.
However, this isn’t the first NBL1 MVP she’s received, winning the Halls Medal in NBL1 Central during the 2021 season for the Southern Tigers.
And she’s no stranger to NBL1 West awards either, as a now three-time NBL1 West First Team member, making the team for both the 2022 and 2023 seasons with Joondalup Wolves and now with the Lightning.
The Lightning will take on the Perth Redbacks in the NBL1 West Elimination Finals on Friday, July 26 from 7:30pm AEST streaming via NBL1.com.au or the NBL1 App.
