Heading into the new year, a number of NBL1 clubs have already made major moves for the 2025 season.
Check out our picks for each conference's most impactful men’s signings below.
NBL1 North - Starts May 1
South West Metro Pirates: Roman Siulepa
Described as having “god-given talent”, it’s safe to say the sky's the limit for Roman Siulepa.
After averaging 18.7 points last season, the 6’5” forward has finished high school and will be focusing his attention on the NBL1 North season, projecting to be his best yet under new head coach Patrick Ewing Jr.

NBL1 East - Starts March 29
Norths Bears: Iggy Mitchell
After two injury-riddled years, a former Sydney Kings’ champion returns home.
Iggy Mitchell has signed with the Norths Bears for the 2025 season, returning home to Australia after his first season in college with San Jose State University. While he redshirted the season, his experience overseas will prepare him for his first season back in the NBL1 since 2022.
He last played in Australia for the Bears, averaging 12.3 points, 8.5 rebounds per game on the finals team.
He was set to join the Sydney Comets in 2023, before suffering a season-ending injury.
“[I’m] thrilled to play again for Coach Garlepp and around a lot of familiar faces and keen for my return to basketball after two years away due to injury,” he said via Norths’ social media.
Honourable mention: Biwali Bayles (Sydney Comets)
NBL1 South - Starts March 29
Hobart Chargers: Will Cranston-Lown
The back-to-back NBL1 East MVP has moved down South for 2025, signing with the Hobart Chargers for this coming season.
After leading the Maitland Mustangs to three-straight Grand Finals, Cranston-Lown finally got his team over the hump in 2024 defeating their Canberra Gunner rivals for the title.
Having proved himself in NSW, Cranston-Lown wants to take the next step in his career, stating in an interview with Love of the Game that the NBL1 South and North are the best conferences to show his NBL-level potential.
Honourable mention: Lachlan Barker (NW Thunder)
NBL1 West - Starts April 4
Eastern Suns: Terrico White
Two-time NBL champion and Finals MVP Terrico White will make his long-awaited return to Western Australia, this time suiting up for the Eastern Suns.
Since we last saw White in the NBL, he has played Puerto Rico, South Korea, the United States, Mexico, Taiwan and the Dominican Republic. However, back in October, White explained he had been waiting for the opportunity to play back down under.
“I've been trying to get back down there since 2020,” he told NBL Media.
“The league down there is very competitive. I love being down there. Everybody keeps asking me ‘What's my favourite country that I've been played in?’ And I always say Australia first and foremost. The living, the culture, everybody speaks English, so that makes it very easy.”

His most recent season with over 10 games played was during the 2022-2023 season in the Taiwan Professional Basketball League, averaging 20.5 points per game.
Will muscle memory kick in and see White take over the NBL1 West? We’ll see on April 4th.
Honourable mention: Isaac White (Rockingham Flames)
NBL1 Central - Starts March 29
Forestville Eagles: Alex Starling
The reigning Woollcoatt Medallist (MVP) and Best Defensive Player has signed with the defending champion Forestville Eagles for 2025, need we say more?
After another outstanding season where he averaged 23.2 points, 11.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 2.9 steals and 1.3 blocks, Starling led his team to the Grand Final where the Eagles stole the game in the final moments.
Forming a superteam of Adam Doyle, Daniel Johnson and Finals MVP Greg Mays, Forestville is now South Adelaide's must-watch team, especially with the controversy of his former club, the South Adelaide Panthers, not wanting to re-sign him for 2025.

Honourable mention: Keanu-Rasmussen (West Adelaide Bearcats)
