The Ballarat Miners have announced the re-signing of three players for the 2022 Coles Express NBL1 South season with Will Hynes, Jordan Lingard and Zac Dunmore all committing to the club.
Chair of Senior Elite Teams Cameron Moore said: "It’s exciting that these three local players have recommitted for the 2022 season.
"This sets a great foundation for our club and further showcases the pathway to NBL1.
"We are very confident that Jordan, Will and Zac will be able to continue to develop their game in 2022 and be good role models for our junior Miners."
Hynes said: "I am looking forward to returning to the Miners, Ballarat is the best place for me to continue to get better and I would love to win the Championship with the Miners.
Hynes has played all his basketball in Ballarat starting as a junior with Exies Acmy.
"Ballarat has always been my home and I have been able to progress through the pathway here I want to show the juniors that if you work hard, you can also one day play for the Miners," Hynes added.
Lingard returns for his fourth year with the Ballarat Miners saying: "Basketball Ballarat and especially the town of Ballarat has become my home over the past three to four years, so to be able to put on the blue and gold and represent this town was a no brainer for myself."
Lingard has been spending the NBL1 South off-season playing and coaching in the CBL with Colac Kookas.
"We’ve started the season undefeated; I’m enjoying the coaching experience I am working with quality players and I am improving which I hope to be able to bring this back to Ballarat," Lingard said.
Dunmore returns for his fifth season with the top Miners team having played his first game in 2018 when he used to commute from his hometown of Ararat.
Dunmore said: "I’m happy to be re-signing with the Miners for this upcoming season.
"The people around the organisation are very friendly and helpful with my development not just on the court but off it as well."
Matt Sheehan from the Miners Sub-Committee said: "We are extremely happy that Zac, Will and Jordan have recommitted to the Miners program for another year.
"As a player, signing on without having a coach in place at this stage is a difficult task.
"This shows the commitment these young men have in the program and secondly the confidence the Miners Committee will get the right coach in place to continue their improvement on their Basketball journey."
