Sunday afternoon Keilor Thunder will be holding their annual Go Grey In May fundraiser against Brain Cancer, at their NBL1 Women’s game against the Ringwood Hawks.
Thunder Women's players will be wearing special grey uniforms to support the fundraiser.
The fundraiser is very important to Keilor Basketball Association. In October 2012 a young female player of the club; Olivia Carland, was diagnosed with Brain Cancer at just 17 years of age. Olivia fought bravely, enduring chemotherapy, steroids and radiotherapy. In April 2014 Olivia sadly lost her battle with Brain cancer.
A few years later the club also lost a long time member John Williams. John sadly passed away in January 2018 from his 10 month battle with Brain Cancer. John has three kids who have played in our competition and his wife Anna also contributed to our association.
