The Logan Thunder have announced the return of Boston Mazlin who has re-signed for the 2022 Coles Express NBL1 North Season.
Originally a Townsville Basketball Junior, Mazlin joined the Logan Thunder senior representative program in 2020 as a member of the Men’s Queensland State League team.
Mazlin led the U21 Logan Thunder Men to back-to-back SQJBC championships (2020, 2021) and featured as one of the NBL1 North’s most talented young stars in the inaugural season.
Mazlin averaged 11.9 points per game in NBL1 2021 including a season-high 25-point explosion against Southern Districts Spartans, going eight from eight from three-point range in the Thunder men’s 33-point win.
Mazlin was the recipient of the Logan Thunder NBL1 North program Youth Player of the Year award in 2021 and returns ready to build on what was a successful inaugural NBL1 campaign.
Mazlin had this to say about returning for 2022: "My first season with Thunder was great, I learned a lot from the older guys on how to improve my game and take it to the next level.
"The Thunder family is what made me decide to come back, it’s a great association and it’s great to play in the Thunder environment.
"Logan basketball is a different type of basketball.
"We play with passion and leave everything out on the court with a great atmosphere every single game!
"I think being a more all-around player is something I’ve worked on during the offseason, developing an all-around scoring mindset and becoming a better defender.
"I’m looking forward to getting back out on the court with the guys and competing for a championship and of course playing in front of the best crowd in Australia!"
Mazlin joins Jeremy Kendle and Michael Cedar who will feature for the Logan Thunder men in 2022.
