Two-time NBL1 West First Team member CJ Turnage has re-signed with the Joondalup Wolves for the 2025 season.
Averaging 22.3 points, 7.1 rebounds and 4.3 assists last season, the highly athletic forward was critical to the team's success.
The Wolves made it within minutes of the Grand Final, but ultimately fell short of MVP Joel Murray's masterclass in an overtime Preliminary Final finish.
As the club's first signing of the offseason, head coach David Morrell said signing Turnage to his fourth season with the club was a "no-brainer".
“It’s a great privilege to have such great continuity with an import as talented as CJ as it is truly rare. I’m proud of him and his success in those three seasons," he said.
"He’s improved each and every year in major ways and is truly an unstoppable force. But after those three great years, there is definitely still a strong unsettled feeling for both of us of unfinished business as we have gotten agonizingly close to a championship in back-to-back seasons now.
“Having CJ return is a big part of us feeling good about our chances to contend for a championship yet again. Re-signing him was a no-brainer. You see the talent on the floor, but in addition to that, his teammates love him, the community loves him, he’s smart, he puts the team first. He is a tremendous player, and I am very excited to continue this process with him into 2025.”
