Last week the Pick and Roll’s Matt Hickey named his all-time “All-Star Five” for the NBL1 competition since its start in 2019.
With representation across all five conferences, the diversity of talent across the country continues to grow each season. This All-Star Five highlights this, featuring multiple champions, MVPs, Finals MVPs, Defensive Players of the Year and more.
A particular standout includes Teige Morell, who has won multiple MVPs across two different conferences -- winning the Halls Medal in NBL1 Central in 2021 and the NBL1 West MVP in 2024.
On the men’s side, Glenn Morison embodies what it means to be an NBL1 player.
As Canberra born-and-breed product, he led his team to the inaugural NBL1 East championship in a team filled with purely ACT products.
“Glenn Morison has been one of the great pillars of the NBL1 East,” Hickey wrote.
“He deserves more plaudits and he gets some of that here.”
