Coming into the New Year, six MVPs from last season have signed for the 2024 Mitsubishi Motors NBL1 season.
Each conference awards a women’s and men’s MVP, with 10* MVP trophies being awarded to the most outstanding player in each conference.
*The NBL1 South men’s MVP race finished in a tie, resulting in a Co-MVP award.
Six of our 11 MVPs from last season have put pen to paper for next season, with some re-signing and a couple moving to new teams.

Nicole Munger
The Newcastle Falcons superstar Nicole Munger signed back in December after a historic season for the club. She's currently playing with the WNBL’s UC Capitals, leaving her fresh and in form for the start of the conference in April.

William Cranston-Lown
Leading his team to the NBL1 East Grand Final, the 23-year-old William Cranston-Lown not only walks into next season with a trophy, but a chip on his shoulder to bring his club a title after coming so close.

Megan McKay
Not only winning the NBL1 South MVP, Megan McKay also dominated the National Finals to claim the Championship Game MVP – taking home two MVPs in a single, undefeated season.

Daniel Trist
Having already been contracted for the 2024 season, the Frankston Blues star is headed back to his club for another season – this time as the reigning MVP.
Last season the former NBL big man averaged 22.2 points, 11.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists for the Finals team.
Dan Trist was awarded the Co-MVP alongside Melbourne Tigers player Jack Purchase.
Alex Sharp
The two-time NBL1 West MVP Alex Sharp is changing teams, leaving the Willetton Tigers to join the Rockingham Flames for the 2024 season.
Having won the 2021 and 2023 MVP Awards, Sharp led the Tigers to three straight Grand Finals appearances before deciding she needed a change of scenery with the Flames.

Courtney Woods
The NBL1 North MVP and two-time conference champion Courtney Woods is headed to the Northern Territory for the 2024 season.
She won her first title with the Townsville Flames in 2022, then carried her hometown Northside Wizards to a championship last season – where she claimed the regular season and Finals MVPs.
Now as the face of the Darwin Salties, we will see if she can win a third-straight title with a new team.
