The Mount Gambier Pioneers have signed Maddy Wormald, Haliegh Reinoehl and Mark St Fort for the 2022 Coles Express NBL1 South season.
Two hundred centimetre, thirty-four-year-old St. Fort is an international player with immense experience having played professionally in Japan, Bahrain, France, Thailand and Columbia.
He is currently playing in the Philippines on a short contract and is expected to arrive in Mount Gambier in mid-March.
In 2021 playing in Japan, St. Fort averaged 13 points per game shooting at an excellent 61 percent from the field together with six rebounds per game.
Head Coach Richard Hill can’t wait to have St. Fort join the Pioneers and get to work with him.
"Mark is a perfect fit for us," Hill said.
"He is very versatile, a solid athlete with great perimeter skills to go with good size and a strong athletic body.
"Mark has shown throughout his career that he can, and is willing to do whatever his team needs.
"A very efficient scorer, outstanding rebounder and defender who is a tremendous shot blocker for his size."
Twenty-four-year-old Reinoehl played four years of college basketball in the starting five with Akron with her performances getting better with each successive year.
In 2020-21 she played in Switzerland averaging 17.5 points and 9.3 rebounds per game.
Most recently she has been playing professionally for the WBGLions in Wasserburg, Germany where she has been also a member of their starting five.
Head Coach Matt Sutton is excited to add Reinoehl to his roster for the coming season.
"We are very fortunate to be able to bring another fantastic person into our group," Sutton said.
"Haliegh has good size and length and is another versatile player on our roster.
"I think she will quickly become a fan favourite simply by how hard she works and her competitive nature, we look forward to welcoming Haliegh into our group."
Twenty-five-year-old Wormald has been a Pioneer since the club first established a women’s team in 2019.
Head Coach Matt Sutton expressed his enthusiasm for having Wormald back in the roster for this season.
"It is great to have Maddy back involved with the group, she's been an important part of our program since we began in 2019," he said.
"Maddy is an extremely tough player that can stretch the floor with her shooting.
"She also has a keen eye for development and communicates well with our younger players."
