In another exciting signing, the Castec Rural Pioneers have announced that 23-year-old forward, Akech Aliir will join the Club’s roster in 2024.

Akech is currently a development player at the Adelaide 36ers and played with the North Adelaide Rockets in the NBL1 Central conference in 2023.

Castec Rural Pioneers Head Coach, Richard Hill is thrilled with the signing of Akech.

“We had Akech in for an off-season camp, and he was very impressive as a player and person. At 6’9” and with a great basketball IQ, Akech rounds out our squad perfectly.

He’s very skilful and is hungry for success. I look forward to helping him reach his lofty goals.” Hill said.

The Castec Rural Pioneers and OneFortyOne Pioneers are scheduled to play their first game in the 2024 NBL1 South season against Sandringham Sabres on 06 April 2024. Their first home game at Wulanda will be against Frankston Blues on Saturday, 13 April. Memberships and season tickets are on sale now!
