The Mount Gambier Pioneers have recently held their Annual General Meeting and are excited to welcome new faces to the Board for 2022.
The new Board members are UniSA’s Regional Manager, Ian McKay who initially joined the Board in 2021 as a casual vacancy, Dr Matthew Oommen, a local General Practitioner and former Bendigo Braves player Drew McKenzie who is now a local Podiatrist. All three new Board members have been elected for two-year terms.
The Mount Gambier Pioneers President Tom Kosch is delighted to have each of the new Board members join the Board.
“Ian, Matthew and Drew all bring great experience and excellent skill sets to the Board which will further strengthen our Board’s governance in what is promising to be an exciting year for the Pioneers.”
Kosch went on to pay tribute to outgoing Board Members Vicki Quinn and Jarrad Sim neither of who sought re-election to the Board after many years of commitment to the Pioneers.
“I want to record the thanks of the Mount Gambier Pioneers Basketball Club and me personally to Vicki and Jarred for their wonderful contributions to our Basketball Club. Both will be missed around the Board table,” Kosch said.
In other news from the Pioneers Annual General Meeting long term supporter, Jill Scott was reappointed as Club Patron. The Pioneers are very grateful for her continued support.
The Castec Rural Pioneers and the OneFortyOne Pioneers will commence their 2022 NBL1 South campaigns on 23 April 2022 at The Icehouse.
