NBL1 East star Ashlee Hannan has signed with the Perth Lynx for the upcoming WNBL season.
The 22-year-old won bronze with Australia in the U17 FIBA World Cup, recruited by the University of Texas and then spent the past NBL1 season dominating with the Albury-Wodonga Bandits.
The 22-year-old forward averaged 13.5 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks for the Bandits. She had a season-high 28 points against the Canberra National in Round 1 and continued to dominate the season.
“I am stoked to be joining the Lynx this season,” she said.
“It has always been a dream of mine to be a part of the WNBL. I can’t wait to get to Perth and get started!”
Perth Lynx head coach Ryan Petrik said Hannan has a lot of upside and is excited for her first WNBL season.
“We’re excited that Ashlee has chosen to start her WNBL career in Perth,” he said.
“She’s an athletic, young big with a huge upside; she can really move and can put the ball on the floor, which suits our style of play. Having seen some of the bigs come through here and thrive the last couple of years, we can’t wait to see what Ashlee can do in this system.”
