The Mt Gambier Pioneers dominated Geelong United 108-58 on Saturday at The Geelong Arena, showing their class from the opening tip.
The Pioneers' dominance was built on remarkable efficiency, shooting 51.5 percent from the field compared to Geelong's 34.8 percent. Akech Aliir was unstoppable with a double-double of 31 points and 10 rebounds while shooting a perfect 12-for-12 from the charity stripe. Joe Palmer added his own double-double with 17 points and 12 boards, as Mt Gambier controlled the glass with a commanding 49-29 rebounding advantage.
Geelong struggled to find rhythm throughout, with no player reaching 15 points. Tristan Forsyth led the home side with 13 points, while Marach Marach added 11.
