Bearcats reload for championsip run

The reigning NBL1 Central champions have signed NBL forward Akoldah Gak for the 2024 season. 

The Cairns Taipans forward made a sizeable impression in NBL24, averaging 5.5 points and 3.7 rebounds in 22 games for the Far North Queensland team. 

Last season Gak played for the NBL1 North’s Southern District Spartans, where he averaged 16.7 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game in a season filled with jaw-dropping plays.

With both Mitch McCarron and Lachlan Olbrich signing in the NZNBL, the Bearcats were after some talent to fill those gaps -- and Gak will most certainly provide that this season. 

He joins Foot Locker Player of the Week Jordan Heading and NBL veteran Mirko Djeric for the Bearcats roster.
