Entering her seventh year with the Northern Star Resources Goldfields Giants and third in NBL1 West, local player Aimee Borchet said re-signing again was a "no-brianer".

The 185cm forward/centre, has developed through the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Basketball Association junior ranks and now fulfills a leadership position at NBL1 level.

On her signing, Borchet said after speaking with head coach Jaymi Worthington last year, it was clear she wanted to accomplish the same things she did.

"Kalgoorlie has been my home for 25 years and coming through the local competition into WABL and now into the NBL1 competition - playing under Jaymi and under the Giants again was a no brainer," she said.

"We have had some girls come back from the first year and it’s really nice to see them back in the Giants uniform.

"A goal we are all setting is getting into the top eight. We have been super unlucky with injuries in our first two season so getting there would be amazing.

"My goal this year is to build once again as a player. Each year brings new challenges and it’s something I thrive off. I have been building on my game from our local competition and also doing my own sessions focusing on my ball handling skills and my shooting. I want to take my leadership to a new level and do my role for the team.

"Once again I would like to thank Northern Star Resource for being a main sponsor this year and thank you to everyone else who is jumping on board again to sponsor the Goldfields Giants. We wouldn’t be able to compete in the NBL1 West competition without it.

"And to all ofour supporters we look forward to seeing you down at games this year!"
