Emilee Whittle-Harmon will lead the Kilsyth Cobras Women in NBL1 South for the 2026 season, with the decorated former player and rising coach appointed as head coach.

The Ohio native makes the move following a strong stint at the Melbourne Tigers, where she served as Junior Girls Director of Coaching and guided the VYC Women to a 20-2 record and preliminary final appearance in 2025. Her Tigers outfit ranked first in both offence and defence, with an average winning margin of more than 28 points.

Her playing career spanned nearly a decade across the SEABL, NBL1 and WNBL, including stints with Albury-Wodonga, Launceston, Nunawading, Perth, Dandenong, and import contracts with Southside Flyers and Canberra Capitals.

Whittle-Harmon was signed as a Cobra import in 2023 before injury ruled her out, and now returns in a different role, set to shape the program from the sidelines.

“I’m incredibly excited and honoured to lead the Kilsyth NBL1 Women’s program into its next chapter,” Whittle-Harmon said.

Kilsyth Basketball CEO Will van Poppel said her appointment was a major boost for the club.

“Emilee has made a positive impact in each of her coaching stops, and has demonstrated an impressive ability to both develop elite athletes and connect to players on a personal level,” he said.

The Cobras say her mix of playing pedigree and coaching success positions the women’s program well for 2026 and beyond.
