Conti, Lavey lead the way for NBL1 stars in AFLW

Fourteen NBL1 stars will take their talents to the AFL Women's competition this season, beginning on Friday night.

Fourteen NBL1 stars will take their talents to the AFL Women's competition this season, beginning on Friday night. 

The Richmond Tigers and St Kilda Saints each have three NBL1 players in their squad.

The Tigers boast the likes of Melbourne's Monique Conti and Maddy Brancatisano as well as Frankston's Tessa Lavey. 

The Saints' NBL1 guns include Sandringham's Lucy Burke, Knox's Rebecca Ott and former Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence star Paige Price.

A host of NBL1 players are also set to make their AFLW debut, including Price and Burke as well as Ballarat's Jasmine Simmons (Adelaide Crows), North Adelaide's Jess Good (Carlton Blues) and Knox's Eliza West (Melbourne Demons). 

Rounding out the NBL1 names are Dandenong's Alison Downie (Collingwood Magpies), Launceston's Brooke Brown (North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos), Albury Wodonga's Olivia Barber (Geelong Cats) and Geelong's Carly Remmos (Geelong Cats).
